WTB: SWB Hood in Excellent Condition

I'm looking for a hood for my '67 SWB. I will be painting it, so condition of paint doesn't matter, but I'd like to find one that is in excellent conditiion.

    Thanks,
    John Audette

I understand I could use a LWB hood also, right? I want an extra hood for track days so I can run without Cibies. I've used a friend's red fiberglass hood in the past. Any pro's and con's steel vs. fiberglass for the track? Obviously fiberglass is lighter, but I kind of like having a little extra weight in the front of a SWB.

    Thanks,
    John

do you have an easy way to get one from the SF bay area to Oregon? I have no idea how to ship something that big? I had it listed on my local craigslist for $150

    John,
I'm sure you're well aware of this - But, you're absolutely right about having weight in the front of an SWB car That said, The "shortys" respond real well to the "fiberglass rear bumper, decklid, and plexi rear window" treatment (if you ever decide to go that far... ) A lot of the SWB guys I run with have done just that (they also run full-tilt 2.5 motors too, but that's a different story for a different time... ) and, boy, talk about a difference in weight bias! Ever had occasion to drive a 912 flat out? that's the sort of balance I'm talking about...

My SWB is all steel panels, still. However, if the time ever comes to hang lightweight panels on the car, rest assured I would start in the back.

Yes, I believe the SWB/LWB hoods are identical - someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Good luck with it...that's a sweet piece you've got there
    Cheers
    Thom

Thanks for the input. My car has the original 2.0 engine built to 2.7 specs. It has a lexan rear window and side windows, but everything else is original. Originally I thought I would go with fiberglass, and I actually have several pieces: front and rear bumpers and engine lid. But the tub is so solid that I decided to stay with the original steel panels.

    Hi Eric....

I forgot about Emory -- I'm sure they do. But I hate to drive down there and back in a truck and not a Porsche.

    Cheers,
    John

    John, I don't suppose...

You'd want to part with those rear FG pieces? would you?
    Cheers
