    Sport Muffler ID

The thread regarding the proper outlet of particular sport mufflers peaked my interest. I did not want to hijack that thread, so I thought I would start a thread regarding sport muffler identifcation and features. Id did a search and could not find a thread regarding this. If it has been done before, please excuse me.

I have two examples of sport mufflers.

The first I have owned since about 1980. It was purchased used and suspect it is late 60"s or early 70"s vintage, but that is only a guess bassed on its condition when I bought it. It appears to be a common run of the mill Leistritz designed for small bore engines. It is a 2 in 2 out with the pair of outlets fairly close to the center. It has part number 901.011.09/07

The second is presently mounted on my 914/6. It is also a Leistritz. It is a 2 in 2 out with 3" outlet near the ends of the muffler. I was able to crop the id info from an image I had. The car is at the shop so I could not go out and look further for a part number. I suspect it may not have a factory part #. I do see "911" as well as a a possible manufacturing date of 1980.

I am attaching a few images. What other part nubers are we aware of?
