    Valve adjustment/no oil change

Has anyone adjusted the valves on and early 911 without draining the sump? Have about 1 hour on a fresh rebuild (changed oil and filter after 30 min at 2000 RPM) and would like to check the valve lash without draining the oil again.

I would suggest to wait and drive it about 500 miles, (unless there is a specific reason you want to check the valves) then do a standard oil/filter change/valve adjust...

    Hope this helps,

Yes, I have adjusted the valves without draining the sump, still some oil is in the lower valve cover area so be preparied to catch about a cup or so.

Real easy, jack it up on one side, do the valves on that side, then switch sides, jack up other side. You'll end up rotating the engine twice more than normally, but you won't have to drain the oil.

Jacked the car up adjusted the valves on the high side and it worked great. Just a touch of oil when the exhaust valve cover was removed. Found a couple of loose valves and confirmed that the rocker shafts were not leaking. The RSR O rings were worth 5 bucks a pop.
