    Its a 66 model, late 65 production.

    I see there is ribs under the engine case, where these ribs on all the early alu. cases?

    Enlighten me please: wouldn't a 65/66 production 911 have an engine number closely matching the chassis number? There was no Targa at that time, nor were there different flavors of 911 engine -- the two factors that mismatch chassis and engine numbers...

    Am I missing something?

    Engine numbers for 65/66 should be in this range: 900001-903550. The cars engine seems to be period/model year correct.

    I don't know if this guy is legit. He also has a vw bus listed for way below market. He listed under a different name a few days ago and his post was pulled.

    Californiaporsche recently sold this car on eBay for $26,000.

    Going by the numbers, it's very likely that it's matching number. In 65/66 there was a discrepancy in the chassis and engine number up to a 100 difference (engine being higher).
