To save or not to save an S RS plastic tank

Would like your opinions on whether to hang on to the plastic gas tank that came with my Euro 73 S coupe as I am contemplating the total restoration of this car.
This car will need LOTS of work and funds and could use the lump$$ from some of the stuff that came with it. (ex. BBs wheels, sport seats and tracks, Martini spoiler, RSR fenders, ect..)

Its a 2/73 dated S RS plastic gas tank(xlnt cond) and believe that if i send for the COA that it may show on there as many Euro S's had them as well as the RS.
How much will this tank bring? Should it stay with the car?
    I appreciate you folks' feedback

It depends on whether it's on the COA or not.

If you sell it and then get the COA and it's on there, I bet you a bottle of champagne that you can't buy another one for what you got for it.

If it came with the car and is on the COA, keep it. I can almost guarantee you will regret selling it.

Talking To save or not to save

I would tend to dispute the assertion that all Euro "S" cars came equipped
from the factory with RS plastic tanks..
I would be more inclined to beleive they were a much sought after option for
euro cars which couldn't be installed as such on US bound vehicles.
I've recently taken possession of what I believe should be a euro delivery '72 and it unfortunately is devoid of such an option...
Although I imagine it could have been removed in the importation and DOT
process.. It still sports a KMH speedometer though ..go figure huh?
What else is on that car ? I'm interested in the takeoffs! Thanks Bert

    Here's my professional opinion:
"Plastic tanks in street driven 911s is just plain foolish."

    Here's my personal opinion:
    "They are pretty effen cool."

To save or not to save

Marco , I have to beg to differ with you of course..
I happen to be installing one each RS style tanks on my 911/83 eng '72 RS
    clone and a 2.5 mfi '72 S RSR,and I'm certain they'll both see their fare share
    of street time..
So I'm probably the wrong person to question as to wether to keep or remove this style tank.
It should bring in this marketplace however ..upwards of 2500.-4K depending
how much someone wants or needs it I suppose.
Zoo if you want to look into a trade ..I'm planning a RSR change to my car and its stock but needing resto badly,so what do you say ?thanks Bert

In strictly economic terms, you can ask the following question: Will the money you make selling the tank today be greater than the reduction in value your car will suffer from not retaining a sought-after piece of original equipment?

I suspect that the answer is no. And that's probably the best reason why you shouldn't sell it.
