    Need info on fuel tank...

I am trying to hook up the stock fuel tank to my 1973 911S. The car came with a tank, uninstalled. The tank has three holes on the backside. I'm assuming that the one at the very bottom between the two other holes is the drain. I've examined the parts schematic in the Porsche 72/73 Spare Parts manual and it is not totally clear as to what parts I need for each one of the holes. The car does not have a gas heater.

So far, I have part 90120102304 & 90120102305, tank fuel filter & fuel tank cap, respectively. Both of these parts have an attached filter. The difference between the two is the size of the hose connections, 6mm and 8mm. Based on the diagram, I thought that these were for the two larger holes and one was the supply (8mm) and the other is the return (6mm). I cannot determine which part I need to plug the third hole, which appears tapered.

Has anyone been down this road before? Pictures and part numbers would be helpful. Thanks in advance for the help.

The hole on the left (drivers side) is the supply line. A filter with a 8 mm opening 901 201 023 05 goes into there (with a washer of course). The middle is the return line. A ring piece 901 356 049 00 and hollow screw (banjo bolt) 900 134 007 02 go in there and attach to a 7mm ID fuel hose to the line in the tunnel. The rightmost opening is either a drain or for the Webasto heater I think. At least, that's the way it is on my car.

If you don't have a Webasto heater, you maybe plug that hole with a fitting that looks like the brass inlet fitting except that it has a brass head with a 10 mm female allen wrench fitting. You find these on 912 fuel tanks, which generally didn't come with a Webasto. It's not shown in the Stoddard catalogue, so call Jim at EASY and ask him for one. According to the spare parts manual" "Lock Screw" is either 900.219.003.02 or 900.219.001.02, presumably depending on size.
