    911R Inspired Rally Car

I have decided to move a little further along the 911R path with my '67 SWB. My goal is not to create a 911R replica or clone, but rather a 911R inspired rally car. I'm in the process of adding:

    - 911R front & rear bumpers
    - 911R rear lights
    - aluminum engine lid with wiper & 911R external hinges
    - side mounted oil tank (from '72)
    - center-fill fuel tank
    - through-the-grille driving lights

I'm looking for caps for both of the tanks and advice on how to convert the tank to center-fill. Also, proper looking wire mesh for the engine lid.

    Thanks for your help.

    Rod Emory made mine.

We used a Fuel Safe, 17 gallon Porsche Fuel Cell as a starting point and I believe the cap and filler come from Australia.

I believe the "art" is in the hole in your trunk lid and there's no doubt Rod is an artist. You can find him at Emory Motorsports in McMinnville.

    Center-Fill Cap

For anyone that is interested, I found a source for the center-fill caps by doing a search on this list. Martin Baker has them - the thread is here:

He charges $135 including shipping for a finned cap and 67mm tall filler neck and I have ordered one. Still looking for a cap for the oil tank.
