    Headlight Experts...

What makes H1's and H4's 'handed'?

I.e. for lhd and rhd cars.

And can they be relatively easily changed or altered?

THe lenses are for sure different for RHD and LHD on both the H1s and the H4s. I don't know of any other differences. So, find the right hand drive lenses and swap them!

The lenses are different but the reflectors can differ also, either that or the bulbholders are rotated to give different patterns for lhd and rhd.

I have two cars with H4s, both LHD, one was previously registered in the UK when I brought it in from France, stuck rhd lenses on it and it all passed inspection with a perfect beam pattern. Did the same for my Carrera 3 when it came from Switz and the pattern is totally wrong without beam converters, even on rhd lenses. I'm sure someone will know the ins and outs but if not I will have a look at some stage soon, note the differences and post some pics.

RHD lenses really cheap, so worth trying them.
