    Question color question

does any one know if there is a difference in the olive color for 1970-71 and 1972-73? In the elferhelfer site there are what look to be two different colors for the same paint code. Under years 1970-71 the code is 414 3939 and in years 1972-73 the code is only 414 the former looks a light green and the latter looks almost brown. Is it just the pictures or is there actually a difference. Thanks for your help

    Wink Olive color

I would also be interested in knowing this as I'm thinking/dreaming of an Olive 2.2 T targa with black interior. I have several colour brochures and it seems that Olive can be either green or brown.....

As far as I know they are the same color. Porsche changed their paint code system in 72' but the colors remained the same.

i.e. in 71' a Signal Orange Targa was code 1410 and a Signal Orange Coupe was 1414 but in 72' they both became identified just by the color chart number 116 but the color was the same.

I've always considered the glass to be half full...that is until I reached middle age and realized that it is actually half empty.

My friends says his 70S is original Olive but its much darker, sort of brown/green. Its not sepia, its greener, but I am starting to wonder if it is not Olive after all. I will check the paint tag. More like in this pic, but even a bit darker.

yeah, I've seen pictures of that car, unless Porsche changed the color without changing the name (seems unlikely), I'd think that car is too dark. Has it been repainted? My car had a good amount of original paint on it in the second picture, and they didn't do the jambs or insides of the doors during the repaint (first picture - and the door tag codes to Olive, I did check before I bought it).
