    Emory's Campout Pics

There was a nice turnout of 356's, and though there were just a few early 911s, the ones in attendance were very nice. If memory serves of the 911s, there was one RS, five S's!, an E, and three T's.

    Thanks Gary & Rod!

Thanks to the Emory family for another memorable weekend. As always, we had a stellar experience - eye candy galore! There were many gorgeous examples. My absolute favourites; Steve Smith's lovely blue 356A coupe and Tom's extraordinary Sand Beige SR 1967 911S. My dear friend, why are you letting her go?

The family and I bailed on going down at the last minute, would have been in a Passat anyway. Looks like you guys had a good time, thanks for the photos. Leaf Green kills me every time...

BTW, Tom, your proclivity for scoring SICK '67 Esses makes me ill. You have two cars that I would sell my '69S for in a second to acquire. For anyone who remembers, that beige '67S is the one from the cover of European Car back in the late '90s. I still keep that issue in the can for occasional perusal. Sadly, Tom politely declined my trade offer for the '67S so it's off to the UK, I'm sure.

All of that said, if anyone wants to buy my '69S for the final bid price on the '67S, I will be glad to oblige Tom in a speedy transaction.

As the auction draws to a close, I must admit a case of cold feet. Nobody seems to think having two very similar cars in one's collection is strange, which has been my rationalization for the sale.

End the auction, keep the car, and prove you are still sane. If you ever REALLY want to sell one of your '67 Esses, you can always sell one to me after I get the dual mortgage monkey off of my back. I'll be here and it' snot like the car won't sell later, right?

I've been trying to talk some sense into Tom.... cars like this one don't exactly show up on your doorstep every day... I could use stronger words to describe my feelings, but you get the drift
