WTB: Radio Knobs for Blaupunkt Frankfurt

I have a Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio (Frankfurt US 7 639 670 is code on side of it) and it is missing the two knobs.
    Where can I get any?
    Anyone have some?

I had thought this was lost, but found it over the weekend in a box with rear seats. So good news is I don;t have to buy radio, as I had thought. Bad news is that i need 2 knobs.

    Thanks,

    Karl.

    Hi Karl,

I don't have any leads on "correct" Blaupunkt knobs, but I have a similar Blau that has black rubber knobs on it, and I only noticed the other day that they are actually VW knobs - part # 171 035 371 A

    Karl -

The knobs on my Blaupunkt in my 1979 BMW 320i had been broken for years. The plastic insert inside the black knobs that slips on the shafts had cracked. My wife finally located a pair on eBay over a year ago. I had been looking for years in many places. The seller was in Germany. I think if you are patient they will surface once again.

    Here is a pair...

Unfortunately these knobs are missing more times than not on these radios. You may find a radio with knobs, not working for the price of these knobs. When you consider the value of your time, I would just grab these and be done with it. No affiliation, just came across these during the hundred hours I spent finding my CLEAN Frankfurt US. It just isn't worth the time. Hope this helps.

Thanks Scott. I had seen this.
I was just balking at $80 for knobs.
Perhaps after i waste some more time looking for them, i will reconsider.

Nope - those are old Beetle knobs, and hard plastic. The knob I have is newer and rubber coated (looks to be from a 70's Rabbit or early Passat/Dasher???)

    Ooops, indeed...

I stand corrected and shame on the seller. I checked my radio which has correct soft rubber knobs and they are not the same. There is a thickness difference at the perimeter of the knob. Thanks for the correction, I would hate to have recommended a mistake like this. I've seen several inoperable radios with correct knobs for under $50 on eBay (oh well), that might be the best way to go.

    You might try this guy:
    http://www.oldtimerautoradio.nl
I bought some correct large rubber knobs from him and I know he has some more.

(I think the shown button is not correct, it should be a smooth surface rubber button, and not the "sandpaper" surface. There are 2 sizes of the smooth button and you need the large one)

He also had the small chrome face plates you might want to use instead of the large one you have. The small one is only around the sender preset buttons and the sender frequency. There are 2 different versions, the easy to get standard one and the hard to get original porsche one.
