    DOT tires for 15 x 8 & 9" Fuchs

Hello all, I am seeking collective advise from this board for a proper DOT set of tires for my 15 x 8 & 9" Fuchs. I am having some challenges finding a matching set with proper wall height. Do you know of any brand and size that would be available apart from the vintage Michelin TB's from Coker ?

    TIA

Just had a conversation on this tire with Sithot this am. He referred me to this page. It's the Avon CR6ZZ. Tom Fender (TFIV) referred me to this tire over the weekend, he says it sticks great.

    CR6ZZ-DOT Avon Tyres

Funny you would mention this tire. I just mounted a set on 7 & 8s for my RS. Harvey did the wheels with the RSR finish and they look spectacular on the car. I used the 185/70R in front and the 215/60R in back giving a matching 25" outside dia. The next matching size up for wider rims would be 205/70R & 215/70R. Only problem is the OD increases to 26.7" These are vintage type tires and may not mix well with a contemporary lowered car. My RS has a slightly taller stance than the cars prepared for "todays" track events and the aspect ratio of width to height looks "period proper". I'm showing the RS @ the Parade in San Diego and Quail in Monterey and wanted the retro look, not a performance tire to compete autocross events. Hope this helps.

BTW, I expect to get killed in the PCA judging as my car is not a garage queen, but an authentic vintage Kremer Brothers sports purpose prepared car thats been somewhat restored, but retains all the Kremer mods as they did them in 1977.

    Hopes this helps,

Thanks Duane, I just spoke with Harvey and we both agree that 26.7 OD is way too tall, so I think Avons are out too. Oh well, I guess I have to close my eyes, bite my lips and open my wallet for the Michelin TB's after all.

Your Kremer RS sounds way cool !
