Agree. Especially the interior -- goes so well with the slate and is executed perfectly. Just the right amount of uniqueness without being over the top.

    Auction Description:

Up for auction is this beautifully presented 1969 Porsche 911 E Coupe finished in Polo Red. Marking the final generation of the original 2.0 L 911, this fuel-injected 1969 example is said to have undergone a complete nut-and-bolt restoration from the frame up under previous ownership. Approximately 800 miles have been driven since the completion of the restoration with over $15k worth of maintenance carried out this year in preparation for sale including a full engine-out service and reseal. Reported to be in exceptional overall condition, this classic 911 E is now being offered by its seller in Massachusetts accompanied by service records and the original spare tire.

During previous ownership, this 911 was completely disassembled before being refinished in the historic Porsche color Polo Red. Records show that the right front fender was recently replaced with a genuine Porsche part to improve upon the repair work performed during the initial restoration. The paint on the car is said to be outstanding and the exterior brightwork is also shown to be like-new (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). Genuine Fuchs wheels are equipped which come dressed in brand new Michelin MXV tires.

Inside, the black leatherette interior has been refurbished to a very high standard. New carpeting was installed, the steering wheel was replaced, and the seats were reupholstered along with the dashboard and door panels. The cabin remains stock in its configuration and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be working properly.

This 911 E is equipped with a 2.0 L type-901/11 flat-six engine which is fitted with Bosch mechanical fuel injection. 140 HP is sent to the rear wheels by way of a desirable 5-speed manual gearbox. Recently in 2020, this 911 underwent a comprehensive engine-out service in preparation for sale at a cost of over $15k. Maintenance items addressed during this time include:

    - Full Engine Reseal
    - All Gaskets Replaced
    - Valve Adjustment
    - New Fuel Tank and Lines
    - Replace Front Control Arm Bushings
    - New Shocks
    - 4 New Michelin Tires

All of the recent maintenance was done through the previous owner’s Subaru dealership and supporting invoices are provided in the photo gallery. The engine is stamped with the serial number 4381937 and the gearbox is stamped 901/07. Just under 800 miles have been driven since the time of the restoration and this 911 is reported to be in excellent running order.

This sale will include a set of 3 keys, a car cover, recent service records and the original spare tire. For any enthusiast in search of an early Porsche 911, this fully restored 1969 911 E is not to be overlooked.

    Dealer Description:

    - Number 899 of 1055 produced
    - Special Wishes Red leather interior
    - 911S trim and appearance group
    - Sport Seats
    - Factory Behr Air-Conditioning
    - Front and Rear 15mm Swaybars
    - Catacolor factory tinted glass

This 911 E was purchased from a shop in Tuscon, Arizona by well-known air-cooled Porsche specialist and restorer, Mark Allen. He was made aware of the car by a friend of his who was a dealer and kept Mark in mind when he came across examples with unique color combinations, as Mark had an affinity for performing full restorations to bring them back to their former glory. When the car arrived at Mark’s shop and he began to inspect it, he was pleased to find that it ran well and had no trace of rust or accident damage. While the car’s life in the dry desert climate had played a key role in preventing rust, it had also taken its toll on the paint and interior. He elected to perform a full restoration but first reached out to Porsche Classic to verify the details of the car.

The 911 E was well optioned from the factory with the 911 S trim and appearance group option, comfort equipment, front and rear 15mm sway bars, climate control and Catacolor tinted glass, sports seats and a special-wish leather interior. No information was provided in regard to the special-wish leather interior, so Mark removed the radio to supply the production number to Porsche for further information. He was able to get a confirmation from Porsche Classic- “eknf 71 378 red”, and with that, the restoration was officially underway. The car was stripped to a bare chassis and all components were sorted, cleaned, and cataloged. The entire body was taken to bare metal and repainted in the original single-stage Black before being color sanded and buffed and reassembled. The tired leather interior was completely restored with matching special ordered Red leather and new interior panels were fitted. Even though the engine had run when the car arrived, the engine was dismantled and completely rebuilt and surprisingly showed little to no wear. The entire suspension was refreshed with new bushings and bearings, and the axles, shifter, pedal assembly, and brake system were rebuilt.

Since the 911 E’s completion, it has been a staple in an impressive collection and periodically driven by its owner. It presents today as beautifully as the day it was completed. The panel gaps are consistent throughout, and the deep black paintwork is flawless and is contrasted by the chrome trim and brushed Targa bar. The interior reflects the exterior’s impeccable condition- the red leather is supple and free of any discernible wear, and the factory Behr air conditioning blows cold for driving comfortably on hot summer days if the breeze from the open-air Targa roof if not sufficient. Whether its new owner plans to drive it regularly, display it out on the show field, or a combination of both- this 911 E is sure to please and those in search of another like it will be hard-pressed to find an example that has been this thoroughly sorted.

    Dealer Description:

CPR Classic is pleased to offer this stunning 1969 Porsche 911E Coupe in Burgundy over a black interior. This example underwent detailed, sympathetic restoration at CPR Classic in 2013 and presents today as if it were just completed!

This numbers-matching 911E arrived at CPR in early 2011 as a nice driver that was in need of some restoration work to be taken to the next level. The car's owner at the time commissioned CPR to perform the following items on this 911:

    - Complete exterior repaint in COA original Burgundy
    - Complete engine overhaul with CPR cosmetic package & new engine padding
    - Complete gearbox overhaul
    - Complete refinishing of all exterior anodizing (window frames)
    - New exterior fixtures and trim to include H4 headlights, new Italian front lenses, Euro rear lenses, re-chromed bumper guards, etc.
    - All new seals and weather stripping throughout

CPR also had the interior fully restored in black leatherette with Houndstooth inserts. A new black carpet kit was installed as well as a new headliner, door pockets, and door panels. All five original Fuch wheels were sent to Al Reed Polishing for refinishing and remain in excellent condition.

Since completion, this 911E has spent the last seven years with two owners being regularly maintained, exercised, and fastidiously housed. It has covered less than 9,000 miles since completion and presents today as an excellent street-level restoration throughout.

Recently returning to us in trade on another car, this 1969 911E offers an opportunity to immediately purchase a CPR sympathetic restoration that will serve its next owner well for many years and miles to come. This example is the perfect car for someone looking to drive and enjoy their 911 and a great car to enter into any street class at a concours.

This 911E comes with a six-month powertrain warranty from CPR. Don't miss an opportunity to purchase this outstanding early 911E!

    Auction Description:

1969 Porsche 911E - a gorgeous original 911E. The Porsche 911 is the most famous sports car of the German car manufacturer Porsche. The appearance of the car was designed by Ferdinand “Butzi” Porsche, grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, the founder of the Porsche brand. The known shape has hardly changed in the last 50 years. The Porsche 911E model was produced from 1969 to 1973. The 911E has been developed for more comfort than the 911S. The 911E is therefore positioned between the 911T (Touring) and the 911S (Super). The E stands for the German “Einspritzung”, which means injection. This “mechanical fuel injection, MFI” was developed by Bosch and Porsche. The 911E was supplied with a few unique features (fog light covers!) and includes a very nice package of paperwork, the original receipt, registration, manuals, tool kits, and more (please see photos). We also have a nice video of it running and it runs and drives beautifully. This 1969 Porsche 911 E coupe is in absolute fantastic condition. A very solid car with only one owner from new until just recently. All underbody is clean and solid. It is completely Original except for a single repaint to refresh it in the 1980's, literally everything looks to be in great condition. It is a ‘matching numbers’ car (with Certificate of Authenticity) and it is in the original factory colour with the original black interior. The engine, all mechanics and electricals have been well maintained and are in very nice working order. This Porsche is guaranteed to be a head turner and is ready to be enjoyed by its new owner!
