    Dealer's Description:

1973 Porsche 911T Gemini Blue “Gorgeous restored car in near concours condition, COA authenticated, Mechanically and Cosmetically excellent”

    The Classic Car Gallery is proud to present a beautifully restored and very correct 1973 Porsche 911T. The 76,527 miles are believed to be original as verified through her original Porsche maintenance booklet and is self evident based on the car's condition. It is a 3-owner car. The car was originally purchased and enjoyed by Mr. Dwayne Bentzien of Reno, Nevada. Upon his passing it went first to his widow and then to his son. The car was sold by his son in 2013 to a gentleman collector in Spokane Wa. The car was in wonderful original condition, rust free but rarely been driven. A portfolio of records documents the sympathetic reconditioning that was since completed first by Alpine Motor Cars of Hayden, ID and more recently by British Auto Repair, Southport, Ct. The following work has been completed in the past one thousand miles including, most notably a full engine seal and transmission rebuild;

New Brake Calipers, Rotors and Pads
    New Brake Master cylinder
    Transmission rebuild
Repaint in correct Gemini Blue Metallic (#86)
Full Engine Reseal and Transmission Reseal
    Plugs, Wires, Cap, Rotor, Points
    R&R Clutch Assembly including Flywheel
Upgrade heater boxes with Stainless units
    Replace all fuel hoses
    Full Fluid Change
    New tires
    New Coco Mats
R&R all exterior rubber seals and gaskets seals and guides
    Refinish wheels
New Horn Grilles, Headlight Rings and Crests
    Valve adjustment
    New suspension including Shocks
    Engine Detail

The Gemini Blue paint is show quality (correct as per the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity COA). In addition to her original drivetrain this Porsche retains all of her original panels, rockers, bumpers, and floorpans. The floors and underside are in deliciously original condition. All panel gaps are consistent and straight with no dings or dents. The BLACK leather seats are in excellent restored condition, with all of her original gauges, lights, components and ancillary features in working order. The dash is original and in good condition with minor wear, including a crack. The original radio works. Her correct carpets are in great condition and are a testament to the level of care that this Porsche has received throughout its lifetime. Included with the car are its full tool kit, jack, spare, manuals, maintenance record book and service receipts. The car runs and drives beautifully, the suspension and steering is tight, and the fuel injected 2.4 liter engine makes great power and torque. This car is stunning from every angle and would make a fine addition to any collection.

    That's an interesting car Doug.

It shows a rear slam panel which, if original, indicates that the early 73MY cars were still being fitted with the 72MY style panel without the 'bump' on the LHS.

Very observant Mike! Now why was the 'bump' on the LHS added? My build date 5/73 911E has the bump.

I asked that question over on the tech forum and got a stupid answer. But it started around 1/73 production as near as I can tell. Looks like a place where a switch would go, similar to the hood light switch. But I've never seen factory use of the area.

On cars with the factory alarm (SC/Carrera/964) a switch makes contact with the bump. The switch is the same as the door switch and is mounted in the engine lid.
As far as I know, the alarm wasn't available as an option until '80 or '81, so I can only assume it was intended for a switch but was never implemented until much later.

My 11/72 T did not have the bump, both of my later '73 Ts had the bump.

Tim Morris at German Master Tech is the fronting the car. Anybody know who actually owns it?

May have sold. Remember the 69E Targa that also "sold" on BaT but which is still for sale...

I was an early bidder on the green car, but the vague engine description kept me from staying in the bidding.

For sale on Craigslist. Could be the BAT buyer backed after seeing it.
