Thanks, reserve not met (but it was below 65). Seems like a solid car, seller said he's taking it to Amelia Island show shortly

Anyone know a good mechanic in the Knoxville Tennessee area, or someone at the show maybe? I know it's not a collectors dream car but looks like a fun daily driver, esp in original Bahama yellow

1973 Porsche 911T Targa 2.4LChassis No. 9113112016Sold New and Serviced by Vasek Polak PorscheLate Production & Lifelong California 73.5 CIS 911!Meticulous Nut-and-Bolt Rotisserie Restoration to Delivery SpecificationNumbers-Matching Engine & Livery per Porsche Certificate of AuthenticityOriginal Owners Manual, Warranty Booklet & ToolkitOffered with Extensive History & Documentation FileSeveral improvements were introduced with the 911 F-series. New for the 2.4s was a small under-bumper chin spoiler, aiding high-speed stability, the engine capacity was enlarged to 2341cc by using a longer stroke and with the power and torque increases, the cars also received a stronger 5-speed H transmission producing one of the most desirable classical 911s to date. One of the finest Examples Currently Available - 1973 1/2 Only produced for 6 months, they are considered the most superior 911T ever produced with a galvanized body and CIS 2.4L engine.9113112016 presents a rare opportunity for the 911 enthusiast to experience what it was like to own a brand new 1973 Porsche in 2016. Prior to its current state, this lifelong California car provided the perfect driver foundation for what is certainly one of the most comprehensive restorations of any 1973.5 911T, with all steps meticulously photographed throughout the process. According to Porsches COA, the Targa was originally delivered from the factory wearing Sepia Brown (54) paint over Beige/Tan Leatherette (31) upholstery, with U.S. equipment, forged alloy wheels, F/R stabilizer bars, chrome fender strips, comfort equipment and tinted glass all around. Still wearing those options today, the car retains its original numbers-matching CIS 2.4L engine, paired to a 5-speed transmission and factory accessories. Additionally this car has a great recorded service history from extensive Vasek Polak receipts on file. Its comes complete with original Owners Manual and Warranty Booklet in pouch, tool kit, jack and spare, servicing receipts from 1973-1999, vintage log book, over 175 restoration photographs and its corresponding Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche. The cost and time involved in finding a well-documented, solid original example and restoring it to this caliber would likely far exceed this cars asking price. With a Best in Class win at the 2015 San Marino Motor Classic, it remains in outstanding fresh condition. A true benchmark of quality, as this final-year of the classic 911 is ideally suited for the Porsche enthusiast in search of what must surely be the finest example in this specification presently available.$178,500.00Offers Welcomed

This car is incredible. ONE owner, it LITERALLY looks new and comes with the original Dunlop SP57 rayon radial tires and ALL documentation from the time it came off the ship. NO excuses here. It is virtually flawless. Purchased new in Monterey CA by an aeronautical engineer/Air Force pilot in Oct. of 1973. It is a late '73 car and has the CIS fuel injection and a 5 speed.
    VIN not posted. Asking $175k.

Maybe someone should tell the nice Driver Source folks that the 1973 model year 911 did not come with a passenger side mirror on its door....

Wasn't that part of the ultra rare $100k sepia executive package? I mean, at that asking price the car must clearly have such rare features.

    Auction Estimate: US$135,000 - $175,000

    - One Owner from New Through 2016
    - Documented with Less than 15,000 Miles Since New
    - In Static Storage for More than Three Decades
    - Rare and Desirable Options and Colors
    - Recently Discovered, Totally Unrestored, Matching-Numbers 911

This 911 T was sold new in mid-1970 to a young government contractor. He opted to take delivery of his dream car in Europe, so he struck a deal for this 911 T, which was in inventory at the Porsche dealership in Dublin, Ireland, and then shipped it to his native Virginia. Finished in Tangerine (Code 2323) with an unusual beige leatherette interior, this 911 T is particularly striking, and features a dogleg pattern 5-speed transaxle, a rare option for the model. Documenting its extremely low mileage, registration cards chronicle the vehicle’s light use. Only 14,983 miles are registered on the odometer of this astonishingly original 911 T at the time of cataloguing.

In January 2016, after nearly 46 years under one owner and more than 33 years in storage, the car was sold to the consignor and rolled out into the Virginia sunlight. With the exception of the air in its original tires, the Porsche is presented exactly as discovered, complete with pristine manuals, service documents, Irish tourist plates, tools, and jack. The longtime owner attests that the original paint on this 911 saw rain only twice – when he encountered unexpected weather – and that the car was never driven over 80 mph.

Exceedingly rare in its current state, this irreplaceable 911 stands as testament to the inherent quality of a Porsche. If the next owner chooses to prepare it for the highest levels of preservation-class concours events and present it for the first time, this 911 might provide the experience of a lifetime.
