    Auction Description:

This original matching number example on offer, is presented in a very complementing Irish Green with black leatherette interior. Still equipped with a vast amount of its original interior, a true testament to the level of maintenance this wonderful 911T has received of the years.

Leaving the factory on the 12th of November 1970, the car with its 5-speed transmission, is described to be a good driver and equipped with the desirable Rennsport bucket seats.

Unlike a number of its counterparts, the underneath, boot and floors of this 911T are said to be solid and rust-free. With its original 125 PS engine still under the bonnet, this resplendent example is ready to be enjoyed by its new owner

    72T 1.png

    BaT Description:

This 1972 Porsche 911T is a roller with no powertrain that was acquired by the current owner as a restoration project in 2015. The car has been located in California since at least the 1990s, and it has been in storage since 2015. Originally equipped with a manual gearbox, this example was converted to a Sportomatic at some point in its life. The current owner had the body repainted in black and performed rust repair in the rear bulkhead and rear seat area. A partial interior comes with the car, including a new headliner, a complete set of glass, and numerous small parts and trim. This 911 is now being offered on behalf of the current owner with a clean California title.

Originally Sepia Brown, the car was repainted in black around 2015 while with the current owner. It has been kept in storage since then. The finish has reportedly held up well, though an area around the fuel filler door may need to be touched up. The original wheels are not included. The collection of removed parts includes all of the glass, the bumpers, headlights, and much of the exterior trim as shown above.

Most of the interior has been removed, though A/C hardware is still in place. Both front seats are included, with the brown leatherette upholstery removed from the passenger seat. This 911 was originally a manual but was converted to a Sportomatic at some point. The two-pedal pedal assembly is still in place. 61k miles are shown, though the true total is unknown.

The rear parcel shelf has been replaced due to rust, and the right rear seat bottom was also replaced. The headliner is new. A small rust hole is present in the front crossmember near the fuel tank. Neither an engine or a transmission are included with the sale. The seller has located the original engine (#6129216) and will put the winning bidder in contact with the owner if desired at the close of the auction. The current status of the original transmission (#620328) is unknown. Many small components and interior trim parts are included. Per the seller, the collection of parts is not complete, and many items will need to be reconditioned before they can be reinstalled.

Well, the car looks like it has some rally features, like the Cibies and the roll bar and the improperly recovered scheel 401 rally seats. But there is no mention of the motor being anything other that a 130hp 2.4 zenith carb'd 911T motor. With only 130hp, this car is going to be the least competitive car on the race track...
