    A 1968 European 911 isn't rare.

The language in the ad alone is enough to make me run. ALL CAPS

    "Only Bank Wire Transfer Accepted
    $2,000 Non-Refundable Deposit Paid
Within 24 Hours Into My PayPal Account
Remaining Balance To Be Paid Within 7 Days
    All Sales Are Final"

There is rust on the front valence you can't see in the original photo because it was underexposed. Look closely and it's on the leading edge of the hood and one part of the bumper. The wiring has the Kiss of Death in my book. (crimp on wiring connectors). It's easy enough to do them properly but laziness does win out here.
Not sure what's going on with the drivers side pan but it appears smashed by a jack and covered with a heavy dose of undercoating. This picture was underexposed as well.

Toddlaunchbaugh - because no ownership history stated, there is no way to determine the original color, it may have been resprayed silver from a different original color. It is apparent that a previous owner attempted an update to the car; adding a larger 2.7L engine, 16" Fuchs, after-market Recaro seats, etc. Searching this forum you'll find information on the specifics of a 1968 model year 911 as well as other SWB and LWB early 911's. There is also a number of books on early 911's; buyers guides and the like that point out differences between model years (MY) and how to scrutinize a 911 for accuracy, wear and tear, rust/corrosion, and alterations.

    BaT Description:

This 1969 Porsche 911T Coupe is a matching-numbers example finished in its original combination of Tangerine over black leatherette with an extensive history file going back to the 1970s. This car was ordered new by Cpt. Schoonhoven of Evergreen, Colorado, who was reportedly the first US pilot certified to fly 747 jets. It was then purchased by a Ms. Parish in the early 1970s, and the prior owner acquired it in 2013. Factory options included 15″ Fuchs wheels, front/rear stabilizers, 911S instrumentation and oil tank, bumperettes, an antenna, tinted windshield, Becker Europa radio, and Koni shocks. This 911T is powered by its original 2.0L flat-six engine that has been rebuilt to ‘S’ specifications and paired to the original 5-speed transaxle, as confirmed by an included Certificate of Authenticity. This car previously underwent a year-long cosmetic restoration by Sportscar Collision in Ferndale, Michigan including a repaint. A large service file documents this car back to new according to the selling dealer, and includes a copy of the original Kardex and a stamped factory maintenance booklet. The car is now being offered in Long Beach, California with 280+ pictures and a clean Indiana title.

The seller has provided over 50 exterior photos in the gallery, and states that the professional Tangerine repaint shows nicely throughout with one small dent on the rear decklid. Some spare Ditzler PPG 60541 Tangerine paint is included in the sale and also pictured in the gallery. This car has been upgraded with Bosch H4 headlamps, and the removed units are included as well. A dual-exit M&K stainless steel sport exhaust system is fitted, and the factory muffler also accompanies the sale. March 1969 date-coded 15″ Fuchs alloy wheels are currently mounted with 195/65 series Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position tires. The wheels themselves were coded as option 9110, which is hand-written on the Kardex.

The front trunk compartment includes a full-sized Fuchs spare, along with an aftermarket front strut bar. Inside, this 911T retains factory-correct black leatherette upholstery. Recently, new headlining and carpets were sourced from Autobahn Interiors in San Diego and installed at a cost of $2k. A Momo Prototipo steering wheel is fitted, while the OEM steering wheel is also included and shown in the gallery. It appears that the factory-optional Becker Europa radio was removed and blanked-off at some point in the past. Currently the mechanical odometer indicates 52,336 miles, and has rolled over once based on the comprehensive service file according to the seller.

Out back, the seller states that the original 2.0-liter flat-six has been rebuilt to ‘S’ specifications by a local marque specialist and fitted with PMO carburetors, MSD ignition, and more. Approximately 100 miles ago an engine oil service was completed and the car was given a general inspection.

A large documentation file dating back to the 1970s accompanies the sale. The seller has provided 90+ pictures of invoices, records, and other paperwork in the gallery, including factory manuals and the Kardex. Engine #6196236 and transmission #7195301 both match the CoA and Kardex as original to this chassis. According to the Certificate of Authenticity, this 911T was built on March 27, 1969 finished in Tangerine over black leatherette. The aforementioned options are listed along with engine, transmission, and chassis numbers.

Calling all Durant mirror experts! Check out this drivers side mirror (on the above car) that has the "3 star" imprint but no "Made in Germany" never have seen one like that.

    Auction Description:

    - Offered from the Torque Collection
    - Beautiful 911 T coupe in a great color
    - Only 23,889 original miles from new
    - Retains its original engine and gearbox
    - Restored by marque experts
    - Porsche Certificate of Authenticity

This very attractive 911 T coupe left the Karmann plant 14 April 1969, painted Polo Red with a black leatherette interior. It was delivered to its first owner with options including a five-speed manual transmission, five-gauge instrument package, front and rear bumperettes, a Becker radio and antenna, and Pirelli tires. The car is believed to have spent its early years with two owners in dry and sunny Phoenix, Arizona, after which it was sold in 1984 to an Ohio resident, with its odometer reading just 20,645 miles. At that point it received a full mechanical overhaul, and then moved on to its fourth owner in Missouri.

At only 23,105 original miles, the car was given a full cosmetic restoration, which included a high-quality repaint in its original color. In 2014, this car was acquired by a noted Southern California enthusiast who had a full new black leatherette interior and new headliner installed. The respected Porsche restoration shop Coachcraft, in Fillmore, California, then brought the paint to what the owner described as “show condition.” At that time, the car had been driven just 23,696 miles and it has accrued just a few hundred miles more.

This outstanding 911 T is supplied with a set of forged Fuchs alloy wheels, tool kit, jack, service records, and manuals. Here is a well-restored, extremely low-mileage 911 perfect for Porsche club events or enjoyable touring.
