    Dealer Description:

LHD and very interesting history. This snappy little 911T with the 2.2 litre engine has been really loved in recent times - as she was in her early days too.

Restoration was completed in 2013 with the works having been started in 2012 and whilst the 'T' was in remarkable original condition it was a project for this chap to indulge himself and therefore the 'T' too. He wrote a 12 page report of all his works including the hydraulic tensioners and turbo valve covers - the only non original upgrades as he wanted the 'T' to be as original as possible

When he first purchased the car he managed to contact the first owner, who specified the 'T' including the 4 speed gearbox - as he stated, "a friend of his had a 5 speed version, which he didn't like as much" and the choice of white (actually Light Ivory) to match all of his previous new cars. He had paid $7.300 which was a sum in those days - the Porsche was always garaged, waxed once a month and only used in the rain on 2 or 3 occasions during his ownership.

He had sold her in the late seventies to a colleague at work, at Proctor & Gamble in Cincinnati - the same area where he took delivery of her when new. When the current owner in 2012 called him, so delighted was he that he came to see him and his old car - it brought tears to his eyes when he jumped into the drivers seat, it had brought back so many happy memories. Anyhow, the 12 page synopsis of his digging into the history and the restoration is a really good read; it's rather nice to find someone who is prepared to write things down, as things would have been in period too. After he finished the works in 2013, he sold her to a buyer in the UK, who in turn sold her to the most recent owner and has kept her within his large collection.

Since in his care nothing has been left to chance and he has catered to her every whim - new carpets, new seat covers ( herring bone inserts - very smart too) various mechanical works with fuel pumps and the like - all bills are within the history folder from her time in the UK. We have used her as an everyday car pottering around town as well as for long journey's to Maidstone and back - she is a real cracker giving a superb driving experience.

Sundym coloured windows, original Blaukpunkt radio, comfort equipment - leather steering wheel, instruments & oil tank like 911S, front seat headrests, matching numbers, correct to the factory specification with a mileage which seems to be genuine - what's not to like? Pretty looking and with the typical sonorous engine note of the early 911 flat 6, this beauty begs to be driven.

    Auction Description:

    - This superb 911T was built on 07/10/1971 (1972 M/Y) and shipped to California
    - It was supplied to Porsche Audi Pacific finished in 8080 Silver Metallic with black leatherette
    - Optioned from new with 15mm roll-bars, electric sunroof, 6 x 15" alloy wheels and sport seats
    - Just three owners documented, the second (1974 - 2016) being American actor Sandy Helberg
    - Imported into the UK in 2016 and substantially restored by A V Classics
    - Restoration completed with final detailing by Greatworth Classics (£12,000)
    - Retains its original panels but benefits from a new Dansk stainless exhaust along with new door cards, carpets, storage bins, fuel lines, pump and braking system
    - With its original handbook, the service book with a few early entries and a nice history file

XEU 529K was built on the 7th of October 1971, shipped to the United States and supplied to Porsche Audi Pacific in California finished in 8080 Silver Metallic over a Black Leatherette interior. The car was fitted with optional 15mm front and rear stabiliser bars along with an electric sunroof, 6 x 15" alloy wheels, 'Sport' front seats and a leather-bound steering wheel. The first owner kept the car until 1974 when it was bought by a German-born American actor, Sandy Helberg. Sandy kept the car for an astonishing 42 years before it was UK bound in 2016/17. Our vendor, the car's first UK owner, commissioned a restoration which was undertaken by AV Classics who took the car back to bare metal discovering that its time in California had been very kind to the 'T' and that the original panels were clearly in good shape.

AV Classics, unfortunately, ran into difficulties and had to shut down, so the Porsche was duly sent to the experienced team at Greatworth Classics near Banbury who dealt with all the outstanding jobs and finished the car off with great attention to detail, the final bill coming to around £12,000, all detailed in the history file. Within the file are an original handbook and service book with a few early stamps which is unusual for an American import. The file also includes many documents with Mr Helburgs details on and some old invoices and receipts showing some good maintenance history. This is a fabulous example of the very rare, one-year-only, 'Oel Klappe' car and is very competitively guided at £60 - 70K.

    BaT Description:

This 1972 Porsche 911T was sold new by Autohaus Charlotte of North Carolina in Sepia Brown over a tan interior, and optional equipment included Fuchs wheels, tinted glass, Recaro sport seats, and air conditioning. Its numbers-matching 2.4-liter flat-six is paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, and other features include disc brakes, an aftermarket stereo, and K&N air cleaners for the carburetors. The car was reportedly moved to Tennessee by its first owner and has remained based in that state through the selling dealer’s acquisition in July 2020. Service since that time has included recharging the R134a air-conditioning system and installing PerTronix ignition components. This 911 coupe is now offered with its window sticker, 1972 sales paperwork, service records since the 1970s, a tool roll, and a clean Tennessee title.

The car was delivered new in Sepia Brown (415) as indicated on the paint-code plaque in the driver’s door jamb, and tinted windows were optioned. Paint-meter readings demonstrated in the video below lead the seller to indicate that the fenders have been refinished, and the hood has paint chips. The paintwork and exterior trim are shown up close in the photo gallery.

15″ x 6″ Fuchs wheels are mounted with 195/65 Bridgestone RE71 tires. Four-wheel disc brakes came standard, and front and rear stabilizers were optioned on this car when new.

Recaro sport seats are indicated on the 1972 sales paperwork, and the tan upholstery is complemented by darker carpeting that has been fitted with patterned floor mats. Air conditioning was also optioned when new, and a Midland AM/FM/cassette stereo has been fitted in the factory location.

A four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of factory VDO instrumentation that includes a clocked 8k-rpm tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and combination gauges. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 92k miles.

The 2,341cc flat-six produced a factory-rated 140 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. Finned K&N air cleaners have been added. The oil was changed in August 2020, and a leak-down test was also performed at that time, with results yielding between 4% and 8%. Additional service since then has included recharging the air conditioning with R134a refrigerant, addressing an oil leak, installing PerTronix ignition components, and replacing the deck-lid shocks and the spark plugs.

The engine-case stamping reads 6120559, which matches the number shown on the 1972 sales paperwork. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery and depict corrosion on some components. The window sticker shows $1,978 in options for a total price of $9,414. Sales paperwork from May 1972 is also shown in the gallery. Service records dating back to the 1970s will accompany the vehicle.

This is the poster child of the description,"BARN FIND" This Car was pulled out of a long time storage in Alabama.I have checked and photographed the rust prone areas of the car,it could almost be described as a rust free car but we all know that is an oxymoron when speaking about early 911 cars.Review the pictures, the floorpans are original in fabulous conditionThe longitudinals are rust free, the original jack points are void of rust. The doors are void of rust, the battery boxes are solid, the rocker panels are solid, the suspension points are all solid.
The engine number is 6197086 mounted to car number 119123317.The numbers are correct for the year and series.
The car is missing all glass except rear glass, door cards, front and rear light lenses and other items I am probably forgetting. What you see is what you get,I have no other items with the car.I do have another 1969 912 that is complete that I will sell with this car if one would like a parts car.

    Dealer Description:

Super Clean Numbers Matching and Well Maintained 2 Owner 1971 911T in Signal Orange over Black Leather interior. This 911T has been in Colorado Springs since new. Garage kept and covered most of its life. The car was repainted in the original Signal Orange color roughly 20 years ago and it still shows exceptionally well. The Black Leather interior shows in excellent condition and well cared for with no major cracks or wear marks.

Air Conditioning was added to the car when it was new and has since been removed. The original wheels, hub caps, and air intake housing are still with the car. The previous owner had a local air-cooled engine shop rebuild the engine last year and fewer than 500 miles have been put on the car since then. The car comes with a fairly complete service history from the previous owners and a Certificate of Authenticity notating the engine and transmission numbers are original to the car.
Did someone on this board buy this car? This car was also sold new at Alpine Porsche Audi in Colorado Springs and has the exact style fog light switch that is installed in my car. I think both fog light switches were dealer installed but the really odd thing about my 911T is that Alpine Porsche Audi also installed Hella 128, 35W fog lights on my car when it was sold new.
