    1973.5 911T Targa silver met - $63,500

    http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifie...php?id=1934228

    6855496.jpg

    Seller's description:
    Chassis No. 9113111630
    Engine No. 6134503

Late Production & Lifelong Missouri ur-911
    Numbers-Matching Engine, Transmission & Livery
Offered with Porsche Certificate of Authenticity
Complete with Original Books, Toolkit, Jack & Spare Assembly
    Extensive Documentation File Spanning 1980-2009
Fully Optioned & Desirable CIS T, Including Air Conditioning

Several improvements were introduced with the 911 F-series. New for the 2.4's was a small under-bumper "chin" spoiler, aiding high-speed stability, the engine capacity was enlarged to 2341cc by using a longer stroke and with the power and torque increases, the cars also received a stronger 5-speed H transmission producing one of the most desirable 'classical' 911's to date.

This car numbered 9113111630 was completed on April 12, 1973 and sold new on the 30th of June through Conine Swab Porsche-Audi in Tulsa Oklahoma to a Dr. Schmidt residing in Joplin, Missouri. According to Porsche's COA, the Targa was originally delivered from the factory wearing Silver Metallic (80) paint over Black Leatherette (11) upholstery, with U.S. equipment, forged alloy wheels, F/R stabilizer bars, comfort equipment, retractable antenna and tinted glass all around. Still wearing those options today, the car retains its original numbers-matching CIS 2.4L engine and 5-speed transmission with period air conditioning.

The 911's lifelong Missouri residency is tracked through years of excellent servicing records, beginning in 1980 and over lapping the 1973 to late 1982 stamped Warranty Voucher. In years past, the car received a silver repaint, while it appears to have retained the majority of original upholstery and exterior trim. In 2008, the 73.5 was garaged in static storage until just this year. Upon its arrival at our facility, we flushed the fluids and performed a very basic tune up for starting/driving mobility, but a full fuel system and complete brake services are recommend prior to any public road use. Additionally although the center floors remain original and remarkably intact there is corrosion found on the front battery tray area that should be addressed. The Targa benefits from retaining its original Owner's Manual and Warranty Booklet in pouch, tool kit, jack and spare wheel, along with corresponding Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche.

This final-year of the classic 911 provides the ideal candidate for light servicing this summer and will likely provide rewarding ownership to its next caretaker. Offered in a desirably optioned package and complete with its original documentation and accessories this beautiful 911 CIS Targa is now available for worldwide purchase and delivery.
Currently in between Porsches. Sold my 73.5T Targa, now suffering from serious withdrawal symptoms. Attending Rennsport Reunion VI didn't really help getting over it.

911T VIN 9111121659 on Pelican. Not mine, no affiliation. Interesting.

    http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...-coupe-nc.html

All Porsches are unique, but this 1971 T coupe a very nice unmolested car with a documented history. It starts, runs and drives like a very young car and always puts a pleasing smile on my face. It is not a perfect car, but it is a very cool car that anyone would be proud to own. The paint is a little tired, looks good for being 45 years old, and is all original. This car has not been restored, overly cleaned or picked at to make it “better”. The car has been well maintained, had some mild improvements and updates which are listed below, and has 64,000 original miles. I have tried to give an accurate description of the good and not so good, and will be happy to discuss details and additional pictures with serious buyers. I like this car just the way it is and think it would be a shame to “restore” it. It could use a some preservation is a few areas but needs nothing to be enjoyed. Feel free to ask questions. Price: 75,000.00

    About the car.

    VIN 9111121659
    Engine 6116351 911/07
    Transmission 7115939 911/01
    Paint 13-13-G Bahia Red

Car was originally purchased at Wester Porsche/Audi in Monterey, Ca.
Carpets are original. Show some wear but are in good shape
The dash is very nice with a very small crack at the speaker grill near the defroster vent
Door panels, pockets and trim are all nice
The leather steering wheel is very nice an is not coming apart
    Under dash upholstery very nice
All glass appears to be original but the edges of the windshield are a little cloudy
The seats are in great condition and had slip covers on them up until a couple of years ago
All door plugs are the old flat type
Windows go up and down very smoothly
The car does not get wet inside when it rains, or is washed. It hasn’t been driven in the rain for quite a while
The sunroof works and doesn’t leak.
The bright work on the car is in very nice shape. Not perfect but very nice
All stickers on the rear body cross member and fan housing are original and in place
Front trunk carpets are good with normal wear and tear
The car has very new tires on chrome wheels that have peeling chrome. There is part of the original window sticker in the records that states the
car came with 5 ½ x15 Fuchs but it looks like from the records they were swapped out for the steel wheels. It appears from the records that there
were some balance issues. There is a receipt for $38 for two of the wheels from the Porsche dealer.
The car has a rear wiper and wheel arch moldings that were installed at the dealer very early on

    Mild improvements

HD Bilstein front inserts and rear shocks. The struts are Boge
Original SSI heat exchangers and aftermarket muffler
    Two Sonnenshein batteries
    Pressure fed tensioners
    Turbo lower covers
Swepco 20/50 has been used for years
The gas tank was replaced 10 or 15 years ago because of a leaky seam. It was an early generation aftermarket tank and not as nice as the current ones
    but works fine

    THE BODY

The body is very nice and very solid but does have a few small dings and scratches. I don’t think the car has ever been in an accident or been taken apart at all. There does not appear to be any outer body cancerous rust.
On the other hand there are a few spots that could use attention. There is no structural rust. There is a spot of surface rust on the cowl where the left rear corner of the hood meets the cowl and fender. There is some light surface rust where undercoating or paint has peeled underneath.
There is a perforation at the rear of the threshold plate on the passenger side. Underneath everything look solid. The thresholds still have the plastic rivets. There is a small hole at the lower outer edge of the battery box on the driver’s side. The bumperettes and overriders have some pitting and rust.

The only serious rust is on the underside of the engine lid. When this car came to North Carolina in the early 90’s, the new owner did not have a garage. He kept the car covered. I think moisture must have settled in the lower part of the engine lid and did the damage. The rear lock panel is clean. You will notice that the engine lid sits up a bit in the pictures and I think the rust contributes to the rigidity of the lid. You can see some little spots on the outside of the lid but I have chosen to leave it like it is. The car has been garaged for the last 10 years.

All of the doors, hood, bumpers, sunroof all fit great, open and close very well.

All of the lights, wipers, gauges, locks, etc work as they should except for the clock.

In conclusion, this is a really great car that runs, drives, stops just as it should. The transmission works great through all the gears. The car looks nice and original as it really is. It is low mileage with a good history. There are nicer, garage queen, original paint cars out there I’m sure. It seems they are over 100K. Most early 911’s have been re-done or are waiting to be re-done. They are just not the same. Cars like this a few and far between. Original is really a onetime thing. Granted there have been some things done to this car but nothing that really changes the character.

Please feel free to call or respond to the post for any questions or concerns. Thanks, Chuck 919-644-2930 cell(best to text) 919-602-3797

    Seller's description:
Guards Red with Black interior. This is an excellent driver quality example. Runs very well with the upgraded 2.7 Litre engine mated to the 915 5 Speed transmission. Nice straight body, excellent original floorpan and suspension pans. There have been some minor mods, S Type front bumper, later seats, colour change etc . Most recently ownedd by a local Porsche enthusiast and used as his daily driver. This an excellent opportunity to purchase an early long nose 911 for a modest price.

No affiliation; typically not wanting to showing dealer listings, but what caught my attention was this extensive restoration of a 'run of the mill' T Targa with no known provenance showing steel wheels and standard exterior deco trim. Plus, even with this comprehensive restoration, still many detail 1969MY inaccuracies can be seen that if they were addressed during the resto, I would think should not have affected the cost.

    - Recent complete nut and bolt restoration
    - Numbers matching
    - Original colors
    - Porsche factory C.O.A (certificate of authenticity)
    - Early 1969 production 1-8-1969

This is one of the finest examples you may ever find. This 1969 911T Targa has just undergone a complete restoration. There was no expense spared in this museum quality nut and bolt restoration and you can tell from the flawless tangerine paint to the new plush leather seating inside. Pictures do this beauty no justice, the tangerine paint compliments this car perfectly and body gaps are spot on. What really sets this car apart from all the rest is the attention to detail in the engine compartment and underside. You could search the rest of your life and never run across another one as nice as this.

It's a dealer; of course there's sensationalism. So which is it? A coupe or a Targa?
It's too bad so many proper details were missed. And it's a 4 speed to boot.

    - Delivered new in the UK
    - Two owners from new
    - Present ownership since 1977
    - Circa 62,000 miles recorded
    - Highly original

This right-hand drive 911T was purchased new in Scotland by a Mr Campagna via the Glen Henderson dealership in Ayrshire. The current (second) owner purchased the Porsche via the Green Card Motor Company, London in 1977 when it had covered 17,000 miles (current odometer reading 62,000 miles). Always a second car, the 911 has been used for holidays and pleasurable outings only, including local shows and road runs, and has seldom been driven in the rain. It has been serviced and MoT'd annually, on the last occasion by Canford Classics, Dorset in March 2016 (see bill for £1,500 on file). A new CDI unit was fitted this year and the car is said to start readily and run well, with no smoke. Presented in generally very good condition, apart from a few minor blemishes to the original paintwork, this pampered Porsche is offered with the original maintenance record and owner's handbook, sundry service/maintenance invoices, current MoT, and a V5C registration document.

This car appears to have Ferry Porsche's signature on the bonnet (sorry, 'front hood'). Anyone know any history on a 'signed' car of this era? Was it a factory special edition, an 'official' marketing feature, or has someone just got a nice sticker on it?

    BaT Description:

This 1968 Porsche 911T is a matching-numbers example on offer by its third owner, who has recommissioned the car into a reliable driver. Chassis 11820482 was produced in December 1967, originally finished in Bahama Yellow with engine #2080533 that remains in the car today. It was taken off the road in 1979 for an engine rebuild and a repaint in the current blue. The car has rust in the front suspension pan and elsewhere, and can be driven as-is or restored to a higher level. The seller purchased the car last year and has since done considerable work to make it roadworthy, including rebuilding the carburetors, distributor, brake calipers, and master cylinder. The car is sold with a clean California title and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

Originally Bahama Yellow (6805), this 911T was repainted in blue in 1980. Paint is adequate for a driver with flaws. The car appears mostly stock with standard wheels and hubcaps. There is dimpling around the body and some bubbling on the hood. Panel gaps look even, and trim appears to be in good condition.

The interior appears mostly stock, with what appear to be the original brown leatherette seats and the steering wheel. The original stereo has also been retained, although speakers were added in the door panels. The passenger and rear seats look nice, but the outer surfaces of the driver’s seat shows deformation on the seat base and seam separation on the seatback.

The seller believes this engine to be an early aluminum-cased version of Porsche’s 2.0L flat six. Other deferred maintenance was addressed with new fuel hoses and replaced front wheel bearings. The electrical system has been gone through, and the engine bay has been detailed. The seller owned and operated a VW/Porsche shop in Arizona and has rebuilt the calipers, installed fresh brake pads and resurfaced rotors, and replaced the shift bushings. He says the car feels good on the road. Engine number is 2080533 and verified by the Porsche COA. Sources vary, but the change to magnesium cases appears to have occurred around February of 1968. This car was manufactured in December of 1967.

Substantial overspray is present under the car. A patch is noted on the driver’s side floor pan and there is rust-through in the front suspension pan. This SWB 911 looks like a good candidate for a rolling restoration, and can be improved over time depending how far the new owner wishes to go.
