so does the "upgrade" to a 2.7 spec mean the case was changed or was the original case bored out? sorry if I have the wrong terms, I just am trying to get an idea what they are selling.
    Expert advise gladly received.

    Auction Description:
Early sales of Porsche’s 911 benefited from use in the opening of Steve McQueen’s iconic racing film Le Mans, which also featured Porsches in striking Gulf Oil livery. Factory-finished in Gulf Orange (Code 61), a special-order paint color offered briefly as part of a licensing agreement with Gulf Oil, this very special 911 T furthered the growing Porsche legend.
Ordered to a particularly high and sporting specification with eight factory options in addition to its paint color, this 911 T served alongside a Gulf Blue counterpart as an official pace car at the IMSA Presidential 250 race, held November 19, 1972, at Daytona. Used by Gulf Oil at the race and as a promotional vehicle, the 911 T offered here was eventually sent to Brumos in Jacksonville, Florida, where it was sold in November 1972 to Harry Mason, a Disney animatronics specialist. Both Mr. Haywood and Brumos salesman “Bat” Masterson clearly recalled the car, its Daytona use, and sale to Mr. Mason, evidenced by correspondence on file. Sympathetically restored within the past few years, and having benefited from many years of service at Brumos as well as an upgrade of the engine to 2.7-liter specification, this fascinating 911 has most recently been serviced by Weldon Scrogham of G & W Motorwerkes. Documented by correspondence, photographs, a copy of the 1972 title, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and more, this Porsche 911 T marks a thrilling find.

I am familiar with this car and the engine number is matching the COA. The original owner did make the adjustments to the original engine.

That’s right, powered by a small black GMC. Professional installation, well executed. This isn’t a “Bandit” Porsche, it’s a fully sorted “Gangster”.

    Yes, it was a T, 5th number being a 1 means T.
