If that coupe goes for anywhere near that price, then the 71 T Targa in the same conda green color that just sold on BAT for $57k plus a 5% Buyer's fee was a steal!!

BaT Description:
This 1969 Porsche 911T is a driver with just over 85k miles that is powered by its numbers matching 2.0L flat-six paired to a 901 5-speed dogleg transmission. The seller purchased the car three years ago in New York after it was featured on BaT. Since then, the engine has been overhauled with a full tune-up, new K&N air cleaners, oil-fed tensioners, and re-ground cams. The motor is said to pull strong and sound great, and the cosmetics have enough patina for worry-free driving. The seller sold his 1965 356C Coupe and 1967 912 Soft-Window Targa on BaT, and is thinning his collection after starting a new job that will not allow time to drive them enough. This 911T has been his daily driver around the San Francisco Bay area for the past few years and was recently serviced. The sale includes limited service records from the previous owner, records for all work done over the last three years, Porsche CoA, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The paint was reapplied to match the original Polo Red color by the previous owner. It presents well in photos with normal wear and a few visible scratches and chips in various places. The body panels have no major dents, though a number of dings are evident, most notably on the right center of the nose. Some overspray can be seen on the rubber seals around the engine compartment and on the end of the chrome window trim in the passenger door jamb. There are rust bubbles apparent on the lower edges of the doors that are said to have not progressed over the last few years due to being garaged when not in use. The most serious area of corrosion is on the bottom of the passenger door. The glass and light lenses are in good shape aside from a small crack in the left tail reflector. All of the lights and indicators are working as they should per the seller. The correct 911T and Porsche badges are still intact, thought the chrome rear grille is sagging between the support slats.
The car is said to handle well with self-leveling Bilstein struts up front, and trailing arms, torsion bars, and yellow Bilstein shocks in the rear. Stock silver steel wheels are wearing newer Yokohama Avid tires, and the chrome hubcaps shown in some pictures are included in the sale. The black interior is in driver condition with many original components. The gauges are said to function properly, and the plastic switchgear knobs are all present aside from the right stereo control and one of the vent control sliders. The dash top and speaker mesh have a few visible cracks. The black leatherette upholstery could use some attention, especially on the driver’s seat where the cover is a bit loose from worn cushions and use. A large repair patch can be seen on the driver’s outside bolster.
The original 2.0L flat-six features twin three-barrel Weber carbs and is paired to a 5-speed dogleg manual transmission. The engine was recently overhauled with new K&N air cleaners, oil-fed chain tensioners, and re-ground cams. A general tune-up was performed and the distributor shaft was rebuilt. The seller reports that it runs strong, but is a little rough off idle and needs time to warm up in the cold. The original air cleaners are included and are pictured in the gallery below, while the last service was three months ago. Engine #6195485 matches the information provided by the CoA. Surface rust is evident on the exhaust components and suspension.
The Porsche CoA confirms the color and engine number. Some of the previous owner’s service records were passed along, and all of the records from the last three years with the seller are included in the sale.

Why do I get the feeling that the BAT folks are reducing their idea about what constitutes a fair price.

Auction Description:
This 1972 Porsche 911T coupe is a three-owner example that has been with the seller for 17 years and roughly 15k miles. The car was recently upgraded/restored throughout, including a bare metal repaint in VW Tornado Red following an exterior disassembly and the fitting of new OEM Porsche fenders. It is powered by a 2.4 liter flat-six punched out to 2.8 liters with larger pistons and cylinders coupled to a 915 5-speed manual transmission from a 1975 911 that was recently rebuilt with an 8:31 ring and pinion. The suspension and braking systems have also been thoroughly upgraded as detailed below. This 911T was built to be driven and is now offered with recent service records and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.
The car is said to have originally been sold in Arizona and was purchased by the seller in 1999 from a dealer in Colorado. The exterior of this 911 was completely dismantled during the recent refurbishment process. The windows were removed and the body was sanded to bare metal then hand dollied/blocked, fitted with new genuine OEM Porsche steel front fenders and a front spoiler, and professionally painted Volkswagen Tornado Red. After the paint was applied, the entire car was wet-sanded, polished, and reassembled with all-new rubber and seals throughout. In the photos provided, this 911 looks to have been finished to a high standard with a consistent paint shine from all angles. Out back, the exhaust system has been upgraded with Bursch headers that reportedly sound excellent.
Polished 16″ Fuchs wheels suit the purposeful look and fill the fenders nicely thanks to a modified suspension system fitted during the refurbishment. Components included new OEM A-arms and later aluminum lower front cross members, OEM Turbo tie-rods, larger front/rear sway bars with later production adjustable rear spring plates, and all new bushings. The braking system has been upgraded with the front spindles, brake rotors, and calipers from a 1988 3.2 Carrera and provide a marked improvement over stock according to the seller. Note the exterior oil-fill door behind the passenger door, a 1972-only feature. The front of the car features MOCAL fender-mounted oil coolers that capture air flowing through the black horn grilles seen above. Overall, this 911T presents quite nicely throughout with the seller noting the windshield has a small crack and a passenger side-view mirror has yet to be installed.
The front trunk has been fitted with a strut tower bar and racing fuel tank that is detailed in the photo gallery. A smaller diameter Fuchs wheel with tire is included as a spare. The interior has been refreshed with an OEM correct “salt and pepper” carpet kit, a new dashboard cover, freshly recovered Volkswagen Scirocco seats, RS America-style door panels with pull straps, and a MOMO Monte Carlo steering wheel with a Porsche crest horn button. All instrumentation and lighting are said to be in solid working order, though a passenger seat belt has yet to be fitted. This 911 has been driven sparingly since the interior was redone and shows well with no signs of major wear. The inoperable odometer shows approximately 94k miles and the seller believes the car has around 116k total on the high side, though exact chassis mileage is unknown.
The fold-down rear seats remain fitted and functional while an aluminum racing bar has been installed. The Scirocco seats do not have headrests. This 911 is powered by a a 2.4 liter flat-six punched to 2.8 liters with larger pistons/cylinders. It is coupled to a 915 5-speed manual transmission from a 1975.5 model-year 911 that was recently rebuilt by California Motorsports in Lake Havasu City, Arizona with an 8:31 ring and pinion. The motor breathes through Weber IDA 40 carburetors, and the seller states that performance is brisk and the engine pulls hard all the way through the rev range.
During his ownership, the seller has had this Porsche serviced at Eurosport Automotive in Arvada, Colorado with recent maintenance including the transmission installation, a valve adjustment, oil change, fuel flush, carburetor adjustment, and new spark plugs. Service records from the seller’s 17 year ownership are also included with the sale. Several in-process engine/transmission photos are shown in the photo gallery below. The seller has mainly used this 911T to drive to car shows and Porsche Club events. He states that the car is mechanically sorted, solid, recently serviced, and ready to be enjoyed. This performance-oriented Porsche could be driven as-is or finished to the next owner’s desire.

Right now this car could be a good buy. We'll see where it ends up. BaT seems to be the best place to sell a 911 these days.
