    Dealer Description:

CPR is offering this very delightful 1971 Porsche 911T. It was originally purchased in California and has been retained in the original owner's family up until just a few years ago, and retains its original California blue license plates. This T is numbers matching with color exterior and interior to the factory certificate of authenticity. If you're looking for an early Porsche long hood 911, this is a must-see and must-drive example.

    BaT Description:

This 1973.5 Porsche 911T is a Canadian-market example that was sold new at Willowdale Porsche in Ontario and is described as a numbers-matching non-sunroof coupe. These half-year models were the last iteration of the pre-impact bumper 911 and featured Bosch CIS injection as well as extended rubber bumperettes. This example has been owned for two years by the seller and has been treated to a bare metal repaint as well as interior freshening. Recent mechanical work includes a high-compression rebuild of its 2.4-liter flat six along with installation of PMO carburetors, a new clutch, Bilstein shocks, and more detailed below. The car is said to have just over 69k original miles and is sold with recent records, original literature, and clean Ontario registration. The exterior was taken to bare metal five years ago prior to the application of epoxy primer and a repaint in its original white, with photos of the process viewable in the gallery below. The resulting finish is shown under indoor and outdoor lighting conditions along with a chipped ding in the hood acquired after the repaint. The seller is aware of no prior accidents and states that the floors, rockers, battery boxes, front pan, and body panels remain original. New exterior seals, trim, and decklid lettering were installed at the time of painting. The seller describes glass as original, noting a chip in the driver’s window and a small crack in the windshield. Black and silver Fuchs wheels wear older BFGoodrich rubber.

The interior has been refurbished with replacement original door panels and pockets along with fresh carpeting throughout, including in the front trunk. The rear seats have been reupholstered, while front buckets show some upper bolster wear in photos. The large factory wheel remains in place along with other stock controls aside from an aftermarket shift knob. The factory radio has been replaced with a modern unit linked to speakers placed behind the map pockets. The five-digit odometer shows 69k miles.

The 2.4-liter flat-six was removed and rebuilt in January 2017 with JE high-compression pistons, a polished crankshaft, new bearings, and Parkerized 911E cams. Cylinder heads were refreshed with new valves and guides, while new timing chains and rails were installed along with Carrera chain tensioners. Dual 40mm PMO carburetors have replaced the original Bosch CIS fuel injection setup, which is also included in the sale. An in-line fuel pressure gauge is also present. A new starter was installed and ignition is from a MSD 6AL box, Pertronix pick-up, and new Bosch 911S distributor. The engine can be seen idling and being revved in the video. Cosmetic updates include powder-coated tins, Turbo valve covers, and new plate covers. Various surfaces have been freshened, repainted or polished and the engine bay soundproofing pad is new. A number of photos are included to show the rebuilt engine prior to reinstallation.
The stamped engine number differs by one digit from that written in the original warranty booklet, likely due to a sales staff recording error according to the seller. Transmission and body numbers are said to match.

Shifting is via a 5-speed manual transmission. A new clutch kit and rear main seal were installed during the engine rebuild along with engine and transmission mounts. Suspension benefits from new rear radius arm bushings and Bilstein HD shocks at all four corners. Brakes received rebuilt calipers, stainless hoses, and new galvanized hard lines throughout. A 19mm brake master cylinder has been fitted and the pedal cluster was rebuilt with bronze bushings. The car comes with original purchase literature including the key card, manuals, and warranty booklet. A tool kit is also included as is the CIS injection setup mentioned above. Service records are available from the last three years, though prior history remains largely unknown aside from the identity of the original owner.

    69T 4.jpg

    Auction Description:

This, very early, left-hand drive, 1969 911 'T' was initially delivered to California finished in its original colour combination of Sand Beige with a Black interior. Looking for a good basis for an early 911 project, our vendor sourced, purchased and imported the car into the UK in 2015.

The car was then subject to a sympathetic restoration in 2016 with bills on file exceeding £20,000. This work included an engine rebuild including new oil pump, big ends/main and intermediate bearings, new con-rods, valves/guides, head studs, clutch assembly, brake lines and hoses etc. The body was also subject to considerable work including some light repairs to the floor and sills and a complete repaint back to Sand Beige with new interior trim and lights fitted at the same time.

Inside, a new headlining, carpets and seats were also fitted and again finished as per original specification and a period Blaupunkt 'Blue spot' remains. The Fuchs five-blade alloys look unmarked and set the car off perfectly.

It's accompanied by a good history file containing many invoices documenting the restoration and expenditure. EU import tax has been paid but the car is currently unregistered and still awaits registration in your country of choice.

This is an absolutely splendid early 911T. The unusual colour really suits the car and viewed in profile, the shape is pure unadorned, unfettered, un-molested 911 and it's easy to see why these cars really set the benchmark in sports car design.

Lots of wrong and suspicious details about this car. Vin Plate is not original and not correct for this car. Instrument panel has been rattle can sprayed (poorly) and the instruments look like they are in "barn find" condition, dash speaker cover surface peeling off, wheels look wrong because they are not real Fuchs, rear deck lid script is missing, the leather wrap on the steering wheel was put on upside down so that the leather ends connect at the top of the wheel (i.e. 12:00) instead of at the bottom (6:00 o'clock) - pretty amateurish resto detail, rubber deco trim doesn't match (front and rear rubber deco are from an S - while the side rocker deco is from a T).

    72T 1.jpg

    BaT Description:

This 1972 Porsche 911T Coupe was purchased by the seller from a fellow PCA instructor in 2009 and rebuilt over a four year period with Markus Blaszak, a Porsche mechanic and race-car builder based in Kingston, Ontario. The primary basis for the build were period FIA 1971 Appendix J Group 4 specifications, and the duo focused on simplicity, power/weight ratio, handling, and reliability. The twin-plug 2.5L flat-six was rebuilt by Steve Weiner and Rothsport, and the 5-speed manual was renewed at CMS Motorsport. Suspension and brake systems were upgraded, the car was repainted, and the interior was refurbished. The seller has added 4k miles since completion of the work, which is documented by some included records and photos. This 911T is sold with workshop and service manuals, numerous spare parts are included, and a clean Ontario title.

The silver repaint is described as adequate, with the seller noting some chips and normal wear present. He was thinking about repainting the car at a higher standard after the build was completed, and has not re-installed the rubber seals or worked on the door/hood gaps. The seals come with the car along with a few rally components. Some minor surface rust can be seen on the inside of the front fenders and on the top rear of the driver’s door. Other weight-saving modifications include an aluminum deck lid and polycarbonate rear window. The car was stripped for restoration and weight reduction, and had some period performance hardware on it when the seller acquired it. The body was sent off for metal repair and primer, with no filler being used. After the body returned it was reinforced in the engine and rear seat areas. Metal jacking points were added underneath, hidden mounting points for an FIA cage were installed, and the car was then shipped out for paint.

The original Carello JOD twin-bulb lights are said to work well, and Cibie replicas have been installed. The suspension was completely redone during the rebuild. New components include Bilstein shocks, Elephant Racing camber plates, Elephant Racing bushings, and uprated torsion and sway bars. The brake system was renewed with S-brakes up front restored by PMB and M-brakes in back. Street pads were fitted all around, and the master cylinder was refurbished with twin brake bottles up front. The 15″ Fuchs were restored by Harvey Weidman and wear Toyo Proxes R888s.

Inside, the black interior has been modified with a period Recaro racing bucket for the driver and a 70s Recaro performance seat for the passenger. Door panels similar to those used on STs were custom built with door pulls, and a custom carpet set is fitted in the rear. The 10k tach and remaining gauges were sent out to North Hollywood Speedometer for restoration, and the dash was restored along with a 380mm steering wheel. The odometer shows 80,493 miles and is believed accurate by the seller. Electrical disconnect switches have been added inside and out of the car, and there are twin ignition switches inside for starting and fault diagnosis.

Power is derived from a twin-plug 2.5L short-stroke flat-six that features Mahle pistons, Weber 46mm carbs, and twin oil coolers. The engine is equipped with headers and a twin exhaust but no heat exchangers. It was shipped to Steve Weiner and Rothsport in Oregon and then rebuilt using nothing but the original engine case. It was dyno’d at Rothsport at 261 hp, and was sent back to Blaszak for installation. The transmission was stripped and the casing was sent to CMS Motorsport for renewal. It was then reassembled by Blaszak and the seller with new shorter gear stack, strengthened bearing housing, strengthened main shaft, new synchros, and a ZF multiplate LSD set at 40% lock-up. A new fuel system with a 110-liter fuel cell and dual fuel pumps was fitted, and the car comes with an FIA vent valve for the fuel cell that has not been installed. The electrical system was refurbished and then modified for the twin ignition, twin fuel pumps, and auxiliary driving lights. The results from the dyno can be seen in the photo above, and some records and pictures from the restoration are available. A service and road test was performed by Blaszak before the car was put away for the winter, with a compression and leakdown done. A collection of spare parts, rubber seals, rally items, workshop manuals, and service manuals also come with the car.

What do you expect from a 'sympathetic' restoration for $26k that includes a repaint, an interior and an engine rebuild? Just a proper engine rebuild is close to that amount. Takes guts to take close ups of a front deck lid that fits like that.

What is with the seal by the vin plate up front? Never seen that before.

This is my car that's for sale on BAT. If anyone has any questions I would be glad to answer them. There are more details on this build to be found in some of my posts over the years.

    Dealer Description:

Now available from CPR Classic is this lovely and very original 1971 911T Targa. An original California car where it remained for 30 years, was then sold by Stoddard to a collector in Ohio. CPR Classic then purchased the car and resold it to one of our clients whom owned it for 3 years and used it sparingly.

The car is a very original example that retains some of its original paint, floor pans, and a partially original interior.

Prior to the first time we sold the car it received top end work and carburetor rebuilds here at CPR as well as recovered seats and a new dash by Autobahn interiors. Overall the car is an exceptionally cared for original example that will be a great driver for its next owner.
