Doug, this question was raised with the seller too, as the common understanding was that USA had T’s with MFI (yellow shroud) due to emissions & the ROW got carbs (black shroud). As Mark mentioned Australia got MFI T’s. And Hong Kong (a RHD country) also had some MFI T’s delivered - although I suspect that was more to do with money - Porsche could option anything if you paid enough!

    1970 Porsche 2.2L 911T Targa, Lot #34302
    VIN: 9110110407
    Sold for: US$41,000 (+BaT Fee on 7/24/20)

    70T BaT 1.jpg

    BaT Description:

This 1970 Porsche 911T Targa is said to have resided in California since 1976 and was inherited in 2018 by its current owner, whose father had purchased three years prior. The car is finished in white over black leatherette and powered by a 2.2-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Brake work took place after 2015, while the most recent service included replacement of the batteries. This Targa is offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner with manufacturer’s literature, partial service records dating to 1976, a June 2020 PPI report, and a clean California title. The car was finished in Light Ivory from the factory, and wears an older repaint in the same color according to the seller. Features include a brushed stainless steel Targa bar with a removable roof panel as well as US-market headlights and a single side mirror. Chips are noted in the windshield, and corrosion and other blemishes can be viewed close up in the image gallery. Black-painted 15″ Fuchs wheels with polished paddles and lips wear Dunlop SP Sport R2 tires showing 2001 date codes. The brake rotors, calipers, and rubber lines are said to have been replaced while the car was with the seller’s father.

The interior is upholstered in black leatherette with matching door panels and charcoal carpets. There are tears in the driver’s seat upholstery, the dash top is cracked, and the windshield wipers, heater, oil level gauge, and Alpine stereo are inoperable. Instrumentation includes a 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a five-digit odometer showing 90k miles. Approximately 1k miles were added by the current owner, and total mileage is unknown. The 2.2-liter flat-six was last rebuilt in 1988 and is stamped 6105668 according to the 2020 PPI from Black Forest Automotive of San Diego, California. Compression and leak down test results as measured by the owner are shown in the gallery. The engine sound pad is noted as missing, and both batteries were reportedly replaced in 2017.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. Several leaks are noted on the PPI. Additional underside images can be viewed in the gallery. The car is supplied with an owner’s manual listing previous owners, a trunk-mounted matching spare, a jack, a lug nut wrench, and a binder containing partial service records dating back to 1976. A PPI report from June 2020 is shown in the gallery, and a walk-around and driving video is provided.
