    Auction Description:

    - An Exceptionally Well-Preserved 911; Retained by Its Original Owner for 48 Years
    - Finished in Original Bahia Red and Optioned with the Comfort Equipment Package
    - Porsche Classic Certified with Matching-Numbers Engine and Transaxle
    - Benefits from a Comprehensive Mechanical Restoration Completed in 2019
    - Offered with Window Sticker, Bill of Sale, Books, Tools, and Records Dating to 1971

The 2.2-liter 911 T presented here was built in June 1971, finished in Bahia Red and equipped with Fuchs alloy wheels, Pirelli tires, and the desirable Comfort Equipment package, which included velour carpeting, gold emblems, aluminum doorsills, chrome rocker panels, and a leather-covered steering wheel, along with “S” trim and instrumentation.

Originally retailed through Commonwealth Porsche-Audi in Boston, this 911 was sold new to Henry Faulkner who cherished it for 48 years. Throughout his ownership, Mr. Faulkner kept meticulous records, which confirm the car’s current mileage – under 66,000 – as original. After purchasing the 911 in 2019, the second owner, Porsche specialist Naples Classic Car, performed a sympathetic re-commissioning that addressed the mechanical systems, while carefully preserving original details. Nearly $32,000 was invested during this five-month process, as documented by an invoice on file.

Under the current ownership, this 911 has been professionally serviced and detailed, and recently had a technical inspection carried out by an authorized Porsche Classic partner. The accompanying Technical Certificate confirms that both the engine and transaxle are the correct matching-number components. The consignor also reports that the 911 retains the majority of its factory finishes and performs with the irreplaceable character of a well-maintained, unrestored Porsche. Recent compression and paint meter readings are included in the car’s file and available for review.

Remarkably, the original window sticker, Bill of Sale, and comprehensive records (from 1971 through 2020) accompany the car in an impressive history file. Additionally, the Porsche is offered with its original owner’s manual, service/warranty booklet, Blaupunkt radio manuals, antenna key, jack, tool kit, and date-coded spare, as well as the Porsche Classic Technical Certificate and Certificate of Authenticity.

Surely one of the finest 911 Ts available, this Porsche is worthy of serious consideration.

    BaT Description:

This 1973 Porsche 911T Targa was sold new at Porsche/Audi of the Palms in West Palm Beach, Florida in April 1973 and is said to have remained with its original owner until 2017. It was repainted the original shade of Metallic Green in 2017, and the interior was also refreshed with black leatherette upholstery along with houndstooth seat inserts. The car was previously listed on BaT in May 2018, and subsequent work included rebuilding the numbers-matching 2.4-liter flat-six and five-speed manual transaxle, servicing the air conditioning, and Jet-Hot coating the exhaust system. This 911T Targa is now offered by the selling dealer in Michigan with factory books and manuals, a stamped maintenance booklet, recent service records, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean Illinois title. A glass-out repaint was performed in 2017 in the original shade of Metallic Green (83), with photos taken during the process provided in the gallery below. The car retains factory US-market rubber bumperettes and lighting, including “sugar scoop” headlight housings and all-red taillight assemblies. The 15″ Fuchs alloy wheels wear 185/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires, and a spare is mounted in the front trunk. The car is equipped with chrome lower rocker trim, a polished Targa bar, and black Porsche lettering on the engine lid. The removable targa top was water tested for leaks in 2018.

The interior was refreshed in 2016 with replacement black leatherette vinyl upholstery and houndstooth cloth seat inserts. A later Blaupunkt radio is fitted in place of the original ‘Frankfurt’ unit, and the car came factory-equipped with air conditioning, which was overhauled in 2018. Stock VDO instrumentation includes a central 8k-rpm tachometer and a 150-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer reads approximately 35k miles, roughly 100 of which have been added by the selling dealer.

The 2.4-liter flat-six features Bosch CIS fuel injection and is paired with a 915 five-speed manual transaxle. Factory-rated output was 140 horsepower when new. Work performed in June 2018 by Carrera Car Shop of Huntington Station, New York totaled $30k and included a rebuild of the engine and transaxle, refinishing the engine baffles and cooling fan, and Jet-Hot ceramic coating the exhaust. Engine stamping ☆6133618☆ matches the number shown on the accompanying Porsche CoA, confirming it as original. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity displays the factory colors, options, and powertrain numbers. The video highlights the vehicle’s exterior and interior and also shows footage of the engine idling.

    Auction Description:

This particular 911T Targa was manufactured in the last half of 1973. It is fitted with the proper CIS injection and a 5 speed manual. Today the car is still in highly original mechanical condition, retaining its original matching numbers engine. Porsche only built 1,302 911T in 1973. This was also the last year of the long nose 911.

A few years ago this car was sympathetically restored. Having only 28,000 documented miles, not much was needed. It was refinished in its original shade of aubergine. The interior, carpeting and door handles were also replaced. The original Fuchs Alloy wheels that are fitted are in very good condition.

The records for this particular 911T are also extensive and included in the sale are books and tools. The car has been in the care of the consignor, a Porsche collector, for the past few years and has been kept road ready.

Anyone who has spent some seat time in an injected 1973 911 will tell you that they are extremely enjoyable to drive. They provide a great sense of mechanical connection and have plenty of performance even for driving today. It is a great car for road rallies, PCA events, or Sunday drives, and great addition to any collection.

    Dealer Description:

This 1973 911T Coupe is one of the last of the long nose cars, equipped with its original numbers matching, fuel injected, 2.4L engine. In December of 2015 the car was acquired by Jim Liberty and over the next 2 years it received a custom restoration/performance build by Liberty Motorsports, a shop renowned for their work on 356s and early 911s. During this restoration, it was lightly modified to create the perfect road rally car. It received a full, glass out color change from Brown to Porsche Slate Grey and the interior was redone in very attractive Red corduroy / Black combo. Originally this non sunroof 911 was a factory comfort package car and still retains the full gauges, chrome rocker panels, and rare gold Porsche/911T badging. During the restoration, the motor was rebuilt (including the MFI unit) oil-fed Carrera timing chain tensioners were installed, and a rare quad tip performance exhaust fitted which sounds fantastic. Outside, the 911 proudly wears a steel S front spoiler, S trim, polished aluminum bumper trim, chrome bumperettes, and Slate Grey color matched/polished, period date coded, 15-inch Fuch's wheels. European spec H4 headlamps, front and rear fog lamps, Italian market front side directional lights, and hood mounted, Cibie driving lights are welcome additions for evening time trials. The suspension has been lowered, red Koni classic shock absorbers installed, new suspension bushings, and a carbon fiber/ aluminum upper front strut tower bar fitted. The interior was completely redone with new custom red cut/bound square-weave wool carpets, Momo Prototipo steering wheel, black perforated headliner, red seat belts, dash mounted- twin rally stop watches, altimeter, and beautiful custom vintage Recaro front seats covered in red corduroy all complete the road rally inspired look.

Any 911 enthusiast will be happy owning this one of a kind, long nose Porsche. This car is guaranteed to wow crowds at club events and cars and coffee gatherings alike. A complete tool kit, Bilstein jack, original sales brochure, original steering wheel, extensive restoration receipts, Certificate of Authenticity, CA black plate "911POOR" and a owner's manual is included with the sale of the car.

    Auction Description:

Now available for auction is this 1973 Porsche 911 T Targa presented in Light Yellow over a black leather interior. Marking one of the most visually iconic Porsche 911’s of all time, the Targa model is instantly recognizable by its signature roll-over hoop and wraparound rear dome glass. Having been under the care of its longtime previous owner and Porsche Club of America regional president up until 2019, this 1973 example has been diligently looked after while being stored in a climate-controlled environment. Shown to be in impeccable overall condition with service records from new, this number’s matching 911 Targa is just waiting to be cherished by its next caretaker with approximately 71k miles showing on the odometer.

This 911 is said to have been professionally refinished in its factory original color of Light Yellow during the 1990’s. The paint is reported to be in great shape and the brightwork also remains superb, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery. This Targa retains its factory intended appearance with its chrome roll-over hoop, fog lights and alloy Fuchs wheels which come dressed in Falken tires.

Inside, the black leather upholstered cabin is said to be in excellent condition with all gauges and accessories remaining fully functional. Factory features include speakers for the rear shelf as well as an air conditioning system.

This Targa carries its original 2.4 L flat-six fuel-injected engine which sends 140 HP to the rear wheels through a number’s matching 5-speed manual transmission. Factory stabilizers bars are equipped, and an upgraded 911 S suspension has also been installed along with S-spec brakes. The engine is said to have been completely gone through under previous ownership with all hardware painstakingly refinished to as-new factory standards. This Targa is stated to be in outstanding driving order with a comprehensive collection of service records showing regular maintenance from new. In-depth photos of the undercarriage and engine compartment are also included for reference.

The sale of this 911 will include a set of two keys, original books and tools, a spare tire, service records dating back to the original purchase and a Porsche certificate of Authenticity. A truly well-presented example, this 1973 Targa is not to be overlooked.

    PCAR Market Description:

We are pleased to present this 1972 Porsche 911 T finished in Signal Yellow over a black leatherette interior. Introduced for the 1972 model year, the E-program 911 debuted a larger 2.4 L flat-six engine mated to a new Type 915 5-speed manual transmission. This U.S. spec 1972 example has become sought after for its distinctive external oil filler lid which could be seen on the rear passenger side quarter panel. Having undergone some considerable restorative work including a full glass-out respray and a recent transmission rebuild, this number’s matching 911 T is ready to be enjoyed by its next caretaker.

At some point during a previous ownership, this 911 T was subjected to an intensive glass-out respray in its factory original color of Signal Yellow. During this time all new body seals and moldings were installed, although the original brightwork was retained. The paint is noted to be in excellent condition with some typical signs of roadgoing wear, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery. This highly collectible 1972 example is characterized by a unique external oil filler lid which is located on the passenger side rear quarter panel. This 911 T rides on factory optional 14” (<typo - 15") Fuchs wheels which come dressed in BFGoodrich tires.

The black leatherette upholstered cabin has been recently refurbished with new door cards and door rails, a refinished dashboard and a reupholstered steering wheel. The original seats, headliner and carpeting have been retained and the interior is noted to be in great shape. Factory features include a Blaupunkt radio, a loudspeaker and noise insulation. All gauges, electrical components and accessories are stated to be fully functional.

First introduced during the 1972 model year, this 911 T carries its original air-cooled 2.4 L flat-six engine which has been converted to Zenith carburetors for easier maintenance. Approximately 130 HP is sent to the rear wheels by way of number’s matching Type 915 5-speed manual transmission which has been recently rebuilt and equipped with a new clutch. Stainless steel brake lines have also been added along with an MSD ignition system. A new alternator fan and housing have been installed and a recent service was carried out which included a full tune-up, spark plugs, fluids and filters as well as a full rebuild of the carburetors. This 911 T is said to be in superb driving condition with just over 19k miles showing on the odometer, although the actual mileage is believed to be nearer to 119k.

The sale of this 911 T will include the original books, jack and spare tire, a set of two keys, service records and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. For any enthusiast in search of a classic Porsche 911, this highly celebrated 1972 example makes the perfect choice.

Ready to be driven and enjoyed by a new lucky owner, it is now being offered for auction out of Illinois with 70k miles showing on the odometer.

The Bahia Red finish on this 911 is stated by the seller to be in beautiful original condition with minor patina showing. The front chin spoiler is stated to have been refinished at some point to correct rock chips. A collection of detailed images is provided in the photo gallery. The car rides on a set of factory Fuchs wheels that come wrapped in new Michelin XWX tires.

Inside, you will find an original black leatherette interior that remains in great original condition. Keen observers will notice the black leatherette seats with corduroy inserts that are stated to have been preserved under seat covers since new. Other features include S gauges and a pair of basket weave floor mats.

This 911 retains its number’s matching 2.4L CIS flat-six air-cooled engine which sends approximately 135 HP to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transaxle. The seller notes that a complete engine rebuilt was carried out approximately one year ago along with the installation of new shocks and a new braking system that features copper brake lines. The car is stated to have always been properly maintained since new and remains in great running condition.

The sale will include a master key, books, records since new, tools, spare, and a certificate of authenticity. Do not miss your change to own this incredibly rare 911 T.
