BaT Description:
This 1973 Porsche 911T coupe was built in March of 1973 and is powered by its numbers-matching 2.4L flat-six. Equipment includes fuel injection, a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle, 15″ Fuchs wheels, Koni dampers, lower rocker trim, and a 911S-style front spoiler. Finished in Viper Green over black, the car has been refurbished with rebuilt cylinder heads, stainless steel Dansk heat exchangers, a reupholstered interior, refinished wheels, a replacement fuel tank, and overhauled brakes and suspension. This 911T is now offered on dealer consignment as part of Mohr Imports’ Monterey Car Week Collection with a Porsche Classic Technical Certificate and a clean California title.
The body was refinished in Viper Green and features polished rocker trim, deleted front bumperettes, and halogen headlights. The car was optioned from the factory with a 911S-style front spoiler, and close-up photos of the paint, trim, and lenses can be viewed in the gallery.
The 15″ Fuchs wheels have been refinished and wear Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Koni dampers are fitted all around, and the brake master cylinder and front brake rotors and pads have reportedly been replaced.
The reupholstered interior features black leatherette seats with matching door panels and replacement carpets. Equipment includes a cigarette lighter, a locking glove compartment, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio.
Instrumentation consists of a central 8k-rpm tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level, oil level, oil temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 8k miles. True mileage is unknown.
The 2.4-liter flat-six produced 140 horsepower when new. The selling dealer states that a mechanical refurbishment included rebuilding the cylinder heads, replacing the engine sound pad, engine mounts, batteries, piston rings, and timing chains. Updated chain boxes and idler roller support arms were also added, and the tins, intake runners, fan, and fan housing were refinished. The Bosch fuel-injection system was also overhauled, and work included rebuilding the fuel distributor and replacing the fuel tank, supply lines, and injection hoses.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle, and refurbishment work included replacing the mounts, seals, third-gear synchro, and both drive axles. The stainless steel Dansk heat exchangers are pictured. Engine stamping *6134079* matches the number listed on the Porsche Classic Technical Certificate.
The Porsche Classic Technical Certificate shows a production date in March 1973, and additional pages of the report can be viewed.
