    BaT Description:

This 1973 Porsche 911T coupe was built in March of 1973 and is powered by its numbers-matching 2.4L flat-six. Equipment includes fuel injection, a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle, 15″ Fuchs wheels, Koni dampers, lower rocker trim, and a 911S-style front spoiler. Finished in Viper Green over black, the car has been refurbished with rebuilt cylinder heads, stainless steel Dansk heat exchangers, a reupholstered interior, refinished wheels, a replacement fuel tank, and overhauled brakes and suspension. This 911T is now offered on dealer consignment as part of Mohr Imports’ Monterey Car Week Collection with a Porsche Classic Technical Certificate and a clean California title.

The body was refinished in Viper Green and features polished rocker trim, deleted front bumperettes, and halogen headlights. The car was optioned from the factory with a 911S-style front spoiler, and close-up photos of the paint, trim, and lenses can be viewed in the gallery.

The 15″ Fuchs wheels have been refinished and wear Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Koni dampers are fitted all around, and the brake master cylinder and front brake rotors and pads have reportedly been replaced.

The reupholstered interior features black leatherette seats with matching door panels and replacement carpets. Equipment includes a cigarette lighter, a locking glove compartment, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio.
Instrumentation consists of a central 8k-rpm tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level, oil level, oil temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 8k miles. True mileage is unknown.

The 2.4-liter flat-six produced 140 horsepower when new. The selling dealer states that a mechanical refurbishment included rebuilding the cylinder heads, replacing the engine sound pad, engine mounts, batteries, piston rings, and timing chains. Updated chain boxes and idler roller support arms were also added, and the tins, intake runners, fan, and fan housing were refinished. The Bosch fuel-injection system was also overhauled, and work included rebuilding the fuel distributor and replacing the fuel tank, supply lines, and injection hoses.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle, and refurbishment work included replacing the mounts, seals, third-gear synchro, and both drive axles. The stainless steel Dansk heat exchangers are pictured. Engine stamping *6134079* matches the number listed on the Porsche Classic Technical Certificate.

The Porsche Classic Technical Certificate shows a production date in March 1973, and additional pages of the report can be viewed.

9112101670 For sale (again) on BaT. NMNA.

    Scott

This 1972 Porsche 911T was sold new in Nevada and reportedly remained with its original owner until 1995, when it was purchased by a person in New Mexico and later relocated to Texas. The current owner acquired the car through a May 2018 BaT Auction and has since added approximately 7k miles, which included two entries in the Texas Hill Country Rallye. Under previous ownership the exterior was refinished in its factory-delivered Aubergine over a black leatherette interior, and a numbers-matching 2,341cc flat-six is paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional features include 15″ Fuchs wheels, tinted glass, vented quarter windows, and a newer period-style radio. This 911T is now offered on consignment by the selling dealer with receipts from 2014 onward, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean Texas title.

    BaT Description:

This Porsche 911T was built on January 20, 1969 and imported to the US via Volkswagen Pacific, Inc. of Culver City, California. The car is said to have remained in the state until 2016, when it was acquired by the selling dealer and imported to Canada. Power comes from a 2.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and the body was refinished in Tangerine over black leatherette sport seats with Pepita inserts in 2016. A 2018 service included installation of an electronic distributor, timing and ride height adjustments, carburetor work, and replacement of the right rear wheel bearing. This 911T is offered by the selling dealer in Canada with a Kardex, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a pair of factory bucket seats, recent service records, and British Columbia registration.

The Karmann-built body was refinished in factory Tangerine (6809) under current ownership in 2016. The car retains US-market exterior lighting, bumpers, small bumperettes, and brightwork. The wheelbase of the 911 was increased to 89.4″ for 1969, and this example rides on 15” Fuchs wheels with anodized spokes and Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS tires. Braking is handled by discs at all four corners. A new right rear wheel bearing was installed and the rear ride height adjusted in 2018.

New salt-and-pepper carpets, a white headliner, black door panels, and sport seats with textured bolsters and Pepita houndstooth cloth inserts were installed in 2016. Amenities include lap belts, a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, and fold-down rear seats. A pair of factory seats trimmed in black leatherette are included in the sale and can be seen in the gallery. A four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO silver-dot gauges including a central tachometer with a 6,200-rpm redline, a 150-mph speedometer, and a five-digit odometer showing just under 50k miles. Total mileage is unknown.

The 2.0-liter M901 flat-six features twin Weber 40 IDTP3C carburetors and was rated at 110 horsepower when new. A 2018 service performed by Coachwerks Restorations of Victoria, British Columbia included installation of an electronic distributor, cleaning and resetting the carburetors, and adjustment of the camshaft and ignition timing. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle. A 911S fuel tank was optioned from the factory. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity shows a completion date of January 20, 1969 and displays factory colors and equipment. A Kardex and recent service records can be seen in the gallery.

Delivered from the factory in Burgundy (24), the Karmann-built body received bodywork on the floor pans, rocker panels, and door skins before a bare-metal, glass-out repaint in Tangerine by European Performance Cary/Autobody of Durham, North Carolina in 2013. The front and rear glass was replaced along with the stainless window trim stainless window trim, emblems, wipers, door handles, bumpers, moldings, bezels, lights, and seals, and the windows were tinted. Reproduction Fuchs 15″ wheels feature polished lips and spokes and are mounted with 195/65 Starfire RS-C 2.0 tires. Suspension and brake components were reportedly refreshed during the refurbishment and a set of Bilstein sport shocks were installed.

Originally trimmed in black leatherette, the cabin was stripped during the refurbishment and outfitted with sound insulation, replacement wiring, tan leather upholstery with matching replacement carpets and headliner, as well as a black dashboard pad, knobs, switches, and seat belts. Amenities include custom door panels, an Alpine CD stereo with satellite radio, and Coco mats. The clock does not work. The starter was replaced during prior ownership and a battery tender was added, and a March 2020 service included a tune-up, oil change, and cleaning of the carburetor jets and fuel lines. Engine stamping *6107231* matches the included Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and transmission case stamping 7105363.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a numbers-matching five-speed manual transmission that was rebuilt by Renn Works of Raleigh, North Carolina in 2013. The clutch was rebuilt in 2012 by John Raysich Porsche, along with replacement of the drive shafts. The exhaust was powder-coated silver, and additional underside photos can be viewed in the gallery. BaT Description:

This Porsche is one of 2,931 US-market 911Ts built for the 1972 model year, and was imported to Canada several decades ago before being acquired by the selling dealer in 2020. The car is finished in white over a red interior, and power comes from a 2.4-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. A timing adjustment, new spark plugs, and fuel injector seals were installed in preparation for the sale. This 911T is described by the selling dealer as a driver or restoration candidate, and is offered with service records from 1991 to present, an August 2020 pre-purchase inspection report, and British Columbia registration.

Delivered from the factory in Light Ivory (131), the car was repainted in its current white under previous ownership. The oil tank was relocated on 1972 911s to improve handling, and the oil filler door can be seen on the right rear quarter panel. Evidence of bodywork is noted in the August 2020 inspection report, and the condition of the finish can be seen up close in the gallery. Painted 15″ steel wheels feature chrome center caps and are mounted with older matching radial tires. New front hood hinges were installed in August 2020. The rear brakes and fuel lines will need to be replaced, the left parking brake does not engage, and the front control arm flanges are bent.

The cabin is trimmed in red leatherette with cloth seat inserts, darker carpets, and black door panel and dash accents. A CD player has replaced the stock radio. Service performed in preparation for the sale included repairs to the driver-side backrest. The rearview mirror is missing, and the windshield wiper nozzles are inoperable. A four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a centrally-mounted tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, and an analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 10k miles, with the actual total unknown.

The flat-six was equipped with mechanical fuel injection in the 911T, and received updates for 1972 including an increased displacement of 2.4 liters for a rated output of 157 horsepower and 166 lb-ft of torque. This example was fitted with an electronic ignition system under previous ownership along with new timing chains and Carrera tensioners. Service performed in preparation for the sale included replacement of the fuel injector seals. Several oil leaks are noted on the August 2020 inspection form, which also lists compression test results ranging from 145 to 150psi across all six cylinders. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle. Areas of rust and missing undercoat are noted in the August 2020 inspection. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery.
