So your conclusion/opinion is that some cars came from the factory that way, or this one was only "gently* molested? Just curious and trying to learn

Good question, I was just making an observation. Could there have been a separate option line item for a gold '911T' ? I don't know.

    Dealer Description:

This 1972 Porsche 911T coupe is powered by a 3.0-liter flat-six equipped with PMO carburetors and Electromotive DFI ignition and paired with a five-speed 915 manual transaxle. The car is said to have been disassembled and stored for 28 years prior to the current owner's acquisition in 2018, and a subsequent refurbishment involved refinishing the exterior, refreshing the interior, and rebuilding the engine and transmission. Equipment includes gloss-black 15" wheels, anodized trim, black-coated rear bumperettes, rally-inspired graphics, a Prototipo steering wheel, and a Bluetooth stereo. Service performed in preparation for the sale included replacing the drive belts, tires, and wheels as well as flushing the brake system, rebuilding the rear seat, assembling the door cards and handle pulls, and changing the oil. This modified 911T is now offered on dealer consignment in California with refurbishment records and photos, a Porsche Production Specifications certificate, and a clean California title.

The car left the factory in Sepia Brown (74) and was stripped to bare metal and repainted during the refurbishment, and the bright and black anodized trim was refreshed. Features include Rennline LED H4 headlights, a driver-side mirror, black-coated steel bumperettes, and rally-inspired graphics. A Stoddard windshield was installed during the refurbishment, and the doorsill areas were repaired to address rust.

Fuchs 15? wheels are mounted with Dunlop Direzza DZ102 tires measuring 205/55 up front and 195/55 out back showing 2017 date codes. The wheels are secured with titanium lug nuts on 66mm studs. Braking is from four-wheel discs featuring Zimmerman rotors, Hawk Street Performance pads, and 911S-type front calipers. The suspension features SC-spec rear torsion bars, Turbo tie-rod ends, Rennline bushings, and Koni shocks, of which the fronts have been resleeved and the rears replaced during the refurbishment in addition to setting a Euro ride height and corner balancing the car. The brakes were flushed and bled in preparation for the sale.

The cabin features seats trimmed in brown leather with houndstooth inserts, the front seats having been replaced with those from a 911S Sport model and the rears rebuilt and reupholstered as part of the refreshment. Matching houndstooth upholstery adorns the dashboard and rebuilt door cards, and the floor is treated with LizardSkin and Noico sound-dampening material beneath black carpeting. The dash pad was restored and the headliner replaced, in addition to the installation of reproduction REPA retractable seatbelts up front and lap belts in the rear. Additional amenities include a RetroSound Laguna stereo, Rennline billet aluminum HVAC control, floor mats, and a mahogany 917-style shift knob.

A leather-wrapped Momo Prototipo steering wheel features a Porsche-crest horn button and frames VDO instrumentation that includes a 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 74k miles, approximately 3k of which have been added since the refurbishment. True mileage is unknown. The gauges were rebuilt by North Hollywood Speedometer & Clock Co. in California in 2019.

The 3.0-liter flat-six reportedly was sourced from a 1983 911SC and was rebuilt by Jay Kjoller in 2019. The engine is equipped with Mahle cylinders, a Dougherty Racing DC40 camshaft, PMO 40mm carburetors, and an Electromotive DFI crank-fired ignition with an MSD tachometer adapter. The drive belts were replaced and the oil changed in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed 915 manual transmission, also rebuilt by Jay Kjoller in 2019 and equipped with a RennShift performance shifter with a 2? shaft extension. The SSI heat exchangers have been replaced and are mated with the stock muffler for street use.

The Porsche Production Specifications certificate indicates the car's original colors and options.
