ad text: 1971 PORSCHE 911 TARGA. AS YOU CAN SEE THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL PORSCHE. THE ORIGINAL OWNER ORDERED IT FROM THE FACTORY, BUILT TO AMERICAN SPEC. NOT A GREY MARKET CAR. THE FIRST CAR WAS STOLEN, SO THIS WAS BUILT WITH TAMPER PROOF VENT WINDOW LOCKS, A HIDDEN FUEL PUMP KILL SWITCH, AND AN ALARM WITH AN AIR RAID SIREN. IT WAS ORDERED WITH A RARE PORSCHE BLUE METALLIC THAT IS DIFFERENT FROM NIGHT TO DAY. THIS CAR WAS RESTORED BY A FACTORY TECHNICIAN AT BRUMOS ATLANTA AND GIVEN AS A WEDDING GIFT TO HIS NEW WIFE. I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM THEM OVER 20 YEARS AGO, AND HAVE PUT LESS THAN 12,000 MILES ON IT. THE ENGINE HAS A VERY SMALL OIL LEAK AT FRONT CRANK SEAL. IT HAS NEVER BOTHERED ME. THIS CAR IS INVESTMENT QUALITY AND I AM SICK TO HAVE TO SELL IT. MORE PICTURES AVAILABLE BY REQUEST.FROM THE WOODEN PORSCHE STEERING WHEEL TO THE PERFECTLY FIT TARGA TOP, YOU NEED TO SEE THIS CAR.

The yellow T was driven/pushed on the block with a misfiring and smoking engine, it was hammered at $40k
RM charges 10-15% buyers premium depending on the deal made by the seller.
The Gemini Blue S was not the car I have for sale as some people suggested.

$40k Seems like a very healthy price for a Euro T without MFI that doesn't run. $80k for the S Targa seems like a fair price if the car was as represented in the photos. Henk, your blue targa should do very well given these comps.

    . . . boing . . .

cmatthewyates, the original owner/presenter of this vehicle, hasn't logged on this board with his/her ID for about a year now.

I'm guessing that this vehicle was sold for a pleasantly-surprising sum (from cmatthewyates perspective, any way) --- back then.

    (Boing)

    And now? . . . it's turned-up on eBay.

    (Boing)

    Next?

    Burgundy 70S at CPR...

It sure looks like the same car they sold not to long ago, minus the Heuer jewelry:

If so, the older paint looked nice enough in the pics. Hard to imagine needing to repaint it.
