Congrats to Randy Wells and Chris Nielsen!

Just received my new issue of Excellence and was blown away by a great article on Nielsen's ST replica written and photographed by Wells. This is one of my favorite "homegrown" cars which took up most of my memory card in 2006. Great job guys!

    Thumbs up Wicked nice!

Chris, this is my favorite car from the last two annual gatherings (I just wish I had driven the beast). You've got the eye, and impressive skills.

And Randy, the photographs are just heartbreaking! Nice work.

I just hate it when the first few folks get Excellence and start to talk up an article.

Not seen the mag but have seen the car so know what to expect.

Congrats in advance to the builder and the photog(keep all four on the ground)

Point taken Chuck. In a gathering of 107 or so incredible cars, it's not easy to focus in on a single favorite. Every year has always been sensory overload for me. My own cars would likely get lost in the mix.

What gets me about Chris's car is the overall look, the stance, the genuine components, the shade tree mechanic/owner/operator fabricated parts done as it would have been back in time with whatever resources you had to get it done. I also like that it was built for a song. The story is great, and Randy's writing of the story is done very, very well.

    Thanks, guys!

It was a real blast as Chris will attest to.

I have to credit Pete Stout for his editing my images and text. Also the Art Director is very gifted. These guys are GOOD and, best of all, Excellence has turned into the best place to see great R Gruppe cars in print!
