I rebuilt front turnsignals to Euro style

I someone else wants to rebuild their front turn signals to Euro style, with the white "park light" and regular yellow turn signal, this is how I did it on my US 71T. I copied the original Euro turn signals from my German delivery 73S.

When removing the back of the housing, you will see some connectors and spades/bulb contacts. Change the layout like I did in the picture. You will have to make the "bridge" wire(red). A tip to choose the right wire to go through the housing and along the front bottom, like in the picture with the red line. You turn your turn signal on, in the direction of the house you are modifying, while NOT turning the ignition key. (In Euro counties this should light the park light/the white part of the lens)) Measure the wires, the one you find a current in is the one that goes through the housing and to the parking light. The ground wire stays in the same place as the euro, and the last + wire goes to the upper left connection with a bridge to the lower right one. Mine had unoriginal wire colours, that’s why I explain about the wires this way.

Buy a bulb holder like the one in the picture, and make a plate out of sheet metal. Bend it in the top like in the picture. Drill a hole for the bulb holder(a little smaller then the holder) and press it inn. Make some small grooves where the plate is supposed to slide inn, with screwdriver or something(this will also remove paint and make the ground connection better), Make the plate a little oversized and press it inn.

Great idea, how do you remove the yellow from the lens?

    Cheers,

Dave: It all started with me buying a US car and wanted it to have a Euro look. Then I bought new lenses(Euro with the white part towards the midle of the bumper). After installing them I soon found out that the wiring must be wrong in the US setup compared with the Euro setup, I did some reserch at this forum, and did it in a couple of hours.

Conclusion: you must buy Euro lenses! Like the ones in the pic.
