Stirring it up a bit.... anyone still wanna bet?

First, things have been relatively quiet lately, tho there have been some great posts.

However I have an unscratched itch...

A while back there was what started out as an interesting discussion about an unusually lovely and original 1972 911S and it's future with a new owner in another country. Unfortuantely, it became rather .....ugly.

In spite of some misgivings, I have reason to drag it back up. Now, I admit that as far as I know the car is not actually in Istanbul yet, nor even that it really will end up there.... But I can assure all of you naysayers that it is going....somewhere.... and if it does end up in Istanbul our early 911 world will be a tad richer and that it will have a loving home with excellent company.

BUT, weren't there a couple of you guys who wanted to give 10:1 odds that this would never happen? Still wanna bet? If the offer is still good, I would be delighted to suggest that the loser pay the loss into the kitty right here on Early S Registry. They could use it more than us. I am game for about $1,000. Any takers still out there?

I say the topic and everything that goes with it belongs in the "off topic" section of PELICAN

And let's get back on with our lives....

You don't like the current threads? Then make up a "good one"....

    John, John, John……..

    How'bout this...

If the responses are completely 'straight-up' ... I'll leave them alone

If the responses are in any way 'off', I damn well suggest you PM John Rice directly with them and help him scratch his itch on his time....

If not, I'll can the whole thing... OK?

I legitimately don't understand the point of this thread?

    Are you taking bets?

Are you asking what we think about Paul and his car?

    I really don't get it....
