I believe this is the same car I saw at the swap meet in Costa Mesa back a few months ago. You could still smell the leather through the open sunroof.

Its a beauty and will bring big $$$.

I have no affiliation, just an appreciation.

All that work and a superceded trunk latch panel?

Hard to get serious bids if the auction can be ended early.

Would you define what you see that is wrong with the superseded trunk latch panel.I don`t know.Thanks-looks like the washer bottle is missing there as well.Wasn`t the dash trim in wood and not a black format?Very nice car!

There is no washer bottle hole in the early cross panel. I suspect this is all that could be had through supersession.

    Supersession

Define supersession.Would that be inclusive enough to include the words damage or rust ? PS. your mail box is full.

All companies and especially Porsche do this for sake of inventory control and a "better mouse trap" being created.

    From Dictionary.com:

    su·per·sede (sōō'pər-sēd') Pronunciation Key
    tr.v. su·per·sed·ed, su·per·sed·ing, su·per·sedes

To take the place of; replace.
To cause to be set aside, especially to displace as inferior or antiquated. See Synonyms at replace.

Boy would I debate that definition.

How about to mfg. cheaper to sell at greater profit to provide inferior quality.

That's why Porsche is more Japanese than German these days. In the old days (yes, I walked to school in the snow uphill both ways) Porsche cars were quite literally hand built. Everyone has seen the videos of the craftsmen checking the bodies for fit and finish doing lead work and sanding by hand.
When the N.W.O. came along they had to learn how to swim (or sink).
They learned from the Japanese manufacturers and the rest is history.

So, in a sense Porsche has been superseded to the "new" Porsche.

You and I will be superseded as well. While they may be younger, smarter and faster remember that old age and treachery beats out youth and skill every time.
