    Aluminum licence panel?

Anybody know what year early 911S used the rear aluminum licence panel? I thought it was just 69-71. Is that right?

I thought is was '70 only. Definitely not '69.

My 71 S has one and I'm sure it's original.

Tom: My 69 has a steel panel and I have the original parts book for that year. It does not show a different panel for the '69.

Aluminum license panels and engine lids also showed up on a fair number of '73s. The best theory of why is that the factory was using up leftover inventory in anticipation of the changeover to the '74 body style.

AL license panels were used on some, maybe most, of the homologation '73 Carreras.
