    Monterey Historics Weekend

Just got back from a fabulous long weekend at the annual car orgy at Monterey. Ran into Chuck Miller and several others from Early S and R Gruppe.
Took several hundred photos but for now, would like to post a few favorites. This years "featured Marque" was "Indy 500 Roadsters". Let me know if you want more pics please, or PM me.
    Enjoy, JZG

    OK, a few more then!

BTW, I will happily e-mail the full 12.7 MB jpeg Hi-res.file of the last picture of the white roadster to anyone (if you are interested) if you can identify it.
(hint, the manufacturer only made one of it's cars to be raced, and this is it)

I took a ton of photos this weekend, it will take some time to weed through them, but this one is the most important to me...

Pictured is Dan and Evi Gurney signing my copy of Porsche Moments, which Dan wrote the forward to. After signing, the two spent at least 10 minutes recalling the names of mechanics and engineers pictured behind the RSK on the inside cover, writing the name of each as it came to them. If you don't already know, Evi was the assitant to Hushke von Hanstein, Porsche's PR director at the time, when she met Dan who was driving for the factory.

I'm having a tough time describing how special it was to watch these two dig through their collective memory to name all the faces behind the racing effort back then. I am incredibly lucky to have this book now, or I should say my son Liam is, the book was signed to him.

What a great weekend, I could go on for hours. By the way Chuck, that was me in the SUB three-wheeler on Saturday evening, but that is a different story...

    Cheers,
    BA

A Pegaso - Out of Spain...
Is it THIS roadster? (Upon closer scrutiny...I don't think the shot on the right is the same car...The one on the left seems spot on)

    Cheers
