I have no interest in this listing except that Dell the owner of Highway One is a friend. I have not seen the car but have spoken to him about it; he and the car are located south of San Fran.

For being so original, why does a 67S have 1965-66 rear seat bottoms.
Also, never knew that "golf" blue was a Porsche color. Did it come with a set of clubs and plus 4's
Golf blau 6603 was the German name for the early gulf blue 6603, not to be confused with the later Gulf blau/Gulf blue. Looks like the lackstift matches the color of the car.

Garth- What distinguishes a '65-66 seat bottom from a '67? I didn't know there were differences.Originally Posted by gruen911

The 65-66 models had a unique surround to the seat cushion, if you have a copy refer to page 16 of the Peter Morgan book "Original Porsche 911" for a pic. The 911S model first came out in August of 1966, and the "for sale" ad mentions that this car is the 25 911S built. Perhaps this early model still came with the 65-66 model year rear seat bottoms because it was so early in the 67 model run. As we all know, Porshe was known for emptying out previous model year parts bins before moving on to the new models.
As for Golfblau, looks like the german name "golf" and the english word "blue" were mixed together when stating that the car color was golf blue - instead of golfblau which is the correct german name based upon the factory touch up paint.
I wonder how much change in color takes place over 40 years between the color that is exposed on the car and what is in the tube. Probably pretty substantial. Anyone ever try to use the touch up paint on their cars?
