Smile Help Setting The Value Of 1972 T Sportomatic

Hi list, I am seeking adise is setting the price of a 1992 T Sportomatic which I am trying to sell for a friend. Go to:

http://imageevent.com/356consulting/1972911t for photos and an Inspection Report. This a good early 911, well maintained, one owner since 1978, but a little tired and in need of a good home. I am not sure how much the Sportomatic hurts the price.
    Thanks,
    Tom Scott

The big issue is rust. How much and where. Body work always blows the best made deal so you will likely face that issue with a buyer. If it is minimal then I think it comes down to being a 72 which is attractive, being a T and it being a Sporto. Sporto's have come into their own lately so that could help as there are just not that many in the market. T's don't command the mfi prices and a color change is an issue for a lot of buyers but over all the car appears pretty original.

My guess would be upper teens. I am sure you will get excellent advice from many on this board with much more expertise than I have.

    Good luck with the sale.

    Rust!

The pans look solid but the rockers are rusty as well as a lot of other upper body areas-Illionois (yes, where the car was sold) and Colorado snow, ice and salt being picked up and kicked up into the car. Color change, sportomatic-both negatives Not a good car to buy but the Europeans are buying up all kinds of early 911s. Your best bet is to put it on eBay. Value $9,000 = +/- and on eBay it might break $10k. This all IMHO.

Glanced at the ebay ad and I think the starting bid is too high. Should've
started at 5,6 or 7k (put the reserve @ 10k if you want) and let the free
market take the price up to where it belongs.

Needs more photos ........... picture's worth a thousand words!!!!

    Just a hunch
