1967 911 Soft Window Targa Drivable Project

Note: I have all the parts, including short wheelbase front fenders, rear quarter panels, and trim, to restore this car back to 100% original!

    Suspension/Underbody

The car has had the front pan replaced properly very recently, and is now due for a floor pan replacement (typical of even dry climate soft Targas). You can get a set of brand new floorpans for $500. There are a few holes in them, but you could get by for awhile if you wish. Rockers and rear suspension areas are solid.

    Interior

Interior is very original with no dash cracks, nice door panels and pockets. The Targa top and soft window are in good shape. The pics show 80s Recaros in it, but they have been removed and the original correct non-headrest seats will be installed.

    Body

All body VINs match! It has been repainted red (the original color was light Ivory) but has had no accident damage that I can tell. All flares are fiberglass and easily removed. The 912 parts car has perfect front fenders and rear quarters to bring the car back to its original non-flared state. I also have the original rear decklid. Remember, 1967 was the first year of the Targa and the only year they made the soft window body standard!

It was originally a German market car that was brought over in the 80s. Not much in the way of records except since I've owned it. It still has the kilometer speedometer and euro taillights.

    Drivetrain

It runs and drives great, 901 5-speed shifts very smooth with no crunching. It has the numbers matching original 130hp engine with proper Weber carbs.

    Restoration info

Needs floorpans, paint stripped, front and rear fenders replaced (due to fiberglass flares), and original seats and decklid installed (which are included). One h4 headlight is broken...a replacement is on its way. A Porsche factory worker found the following in their production archive:

Car 500438 was delivered 18.may`67 to
    Mahag,Munich / motor 911726 is original / Color 6601 =
slate gray / Interior leatherette black / gearboxtype
    902/1 5-speed / option chrome wheels

While the 911"S" soft Targas sell for big money, they made more than TWICE as many "S" Targas than the Normal model...only 235 worldwide!

My asking price is $15,900 for this very drivable, easy restoration project. Car is located in Redlands, CA. Please PM or email with offers. Here are some pics:
