    '67S engine "960591" on eBay

    No affiliation...

Found this bottom feeding on eBay.

"67 911S Porsche Complete Running Engine"

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=290158627071

Interesting, the '65 911 it is located in may be more interesting to others.

The seller responded that the case number is "960591"

    Cheers,

    Sumner

Looks like the car it belongs to is somewhere between 306110S (960394) &
306682S (960714). Most of those were esses so it's likely the 'owner' lies
somewhere around 306500S. Anybody looking for their correct S engine?

More importantly, does anybody know how the production run preceded
with respect to cutovers between normals and esses? How many would
they typically produce in a run, etc.

Anybody know where this engine ended up?
Anybody here end up with this engine or have any information of where it was sold from on ebay?

I own car 306496S and the COA says my engine is #960591

My car currently has engine #960706 and and was thought to be original until i got the COA...

Why would your COA say that your correct engine number is 115 numbers away from the engine in your car. Why would someone replace that engine and then it is still in existence, makes no sense whatsoever! I would say your COA is wrong.

The car was a race car early in it's life until it was restored back to a street car in 1984.
Being a race car it was missing the heater, steering wheel, fog lights, original trunk lid, seats and wheels. Typcial things.
It could have very well been purchased as a tub in the 70's and the owner proir to restoration sourced another "S" engine.

I am Aware the COA's have been wrong in the past however.
