    cost of ST clone

Now that my 911T/ST clone is coming together,I've gone over the costs. For those who are considering this kind of project here'what it cost:
    1/car- $25,000(unmolested rust free quality 911t)
2/motor- $40,000(2.5 litre twin plug fresh rebuilt)
    3/46 webers- $3500
    4/transmission- $5000(901, with lsd,airport gears)
    5/fuel tank- $5000(factory center-fill tank)
6/suspension $6000(bilstein coil overs ,sway bars)
    7/ wheels $1000(nos mini lites)
    8/tires $1000(avon)
    9/ labor $15,000 +
    10/misc $2000 (dead pedal,radio&clock delete,rebuild
    inst 250k speedo.
    10,000 rpm tach,lite weight carpet)

I THINK THESE #'S ARE CONSERVATIVE;so you see it's over a hundred to make a proper ST.plus this one took 3 years

Well frank, for most of us it would have been more than 3 years too: Add in paint work, and alot of the parts that Tom C just mentioned - a real $ to have a car all professionally built at a real shop would be $120k. Sure someone can cut corners and do it cheap, but for the quality that you have and what Tom is in the process of building - you get what you pay for and you both have cars that will last another 30 years!
