911 T engima, San Diego members please help

I just bought a very unusually equiped 911 T, car has Mahle gasburners, sport seats, all S equipment - full gauges, sway bars, big brakes, rear wiper. Car was originally a German delivery car built supposed for a Porsche engineer. Car was shipped to shipped to San Diego in 1973 and sold Warren Grundmeyer, car was later sold to Ben Eager in 1974 and I have every single record on car from 56,215 miles to 272,000 miles. Motor was rebuilt at 115K (1978) miles and has 160K miles on it and just leaked down 2-3.5 %, that's just amazing to me.
I am interested if anyone from SD area knows this car or previous owners, 1970 911T Conda green w/ mahles.
    Thanks,
    Phil

    Phil-

I don't know the car, but the name "Grundmeyer" rings a bell. I have met a Robert Grundmeyer at local PCA-SDR events, and I know his family has had a long history with the region. Warren may be a relation (father?), and has been mentioned in archival articles in the region newsletter from as far back as 1967. John Straub, who posts here, would probably be able to tell you about Warren, and possibly the car, as he wrote this article in 2004 mentioning him as a rally participant (scroll down to SDR-The Way We Were.) John is busy preparing and driving his 914-6GT in the Coronado vintage races this weekend, though, and will probably not see this post for awhile.

I will PM you whatever contact info I can find for Robert and you can ask him.

Thanks, car also had a very expensive (at least for 1978) P&C swap, must be some sort of Mahle set-up and they installed a set of Weber 46 IDA carbs which seems quite silly for a 2.2 T motor. I have reciepts on car all the way back to 73 from Dieters so I assume car was very well cared for. I'll have car later today and will post some pics.
