    Did you notice the location of the engine?

    Japan !!!!

    At $27,000.oo, it seems a bit risky to me!

    Does any one have some input re. the RS that this engine was originally in?

    Was it indeed RS #389 and does that car still exist or does any one know it's whereabouts?

    according to the RS book that is the correct car number for the engine.
    It is one of the very rare cars where both the chassis number and engine number match.

    It was a black M472 delivered to Germany originally, and in my almost 20 years of tracking these cars by number when they show up at sale etc I have not run into this one before so I have no way to add to the information posted here except to say that a lot of RS's went to japan in the late 1980's.

    From what I have learned is this engine (in newer 911) not in Japan.
