What tires came on a 67 S when new

I just bought a new to me 911, for the spare it has what looks to be a new 15 x 4.5 with a dunlop tire that also looks new, I am curious if this could be a NOS wheel and tire.

Also there is no date stamp on wheel, just a fuchs fox where date stamp would normally be.

Mine came with Pirellis according to the factory Kardex. Dunlops were common as well. The size is 165/15. Coker sells the Michelin XAS in 165/15. Should you want to get more bite on the stock wheels try the Avon CR6ZZ in 175/70R15 (hard compound) The size is on the money for stock rolling height. Try some of the threads on tires. Their are some recent ones that are quite informative.

I have the original invoice on my car, and it was fitted with Dunlops

I think Dunlop SP's were special order, so there's every chance it's the original tyre.

IIRC they were Dunlop CB 57s.

I'm pretty sure DOT codes came about later. 3 digits in the 80's and a triangle added in the 90's. At the year 2000 they went to a 4 digit code.

Yes,that looks like the tyre in the '67 S four fold brochure.
Can you post a pic of the Dunlop CB 57 /??? part of the tyre to confirm ?
