    WOW.... Great car Jim

Looks like a gorgeous French Blue 400 Superfast...

I bet this pre-dates Dr. Kamm's influence, with Richie Ginther's help, on the aerodynamic rear end design at Ferrari?

    Very cool.....

    Chuck,

That's the Ferrari GTO prototype, (owned by Bruce McCaw of Seattle these days) and was found to be unstable during high-speed testing, just the same as the RS. The spoiler detaches the airflow and adds a bit of downforce in the rear......but it definitely does not pre-date Dr. Kamm, who did a lot of his work in the 30s , in pre-war Germany.

Very cool John... thanks for the clarification on the prototype...

I do realize the good Dr. did do his work in 30's ...
However it was applied at Ferrari right at the turn of the 60's into 61 with help of test driver Ginther starting with the small lip on the 'big' Testa Rosa 'hot rod' and moving steadily to the GTO and of course the 'Bread Van' ... which might be the most literal form of the Kamm back tail ever...

    Cheers,
