2-Liter Porsche racing is some of the purest form of vintage racing out there. It is a competitive group with fun and fast cars to drive. The hardest part is finding the right car. With the cost of building a competitive car reaching six figures, finding a well-sorted and ready-to-race car is a great way to go. This may be that car you’ve been looking for.
This 911 is fast, fresh, and ready to go. In 2005 it won the HSR-West Porsche 2-Litre Challenge Championship consisting of 10 wins, two 2nd place finishes, and NO DNF’s! In 2006, it only ran four races which it finished in first place for all four races including first place at the prestigious Victory Lane Magazine U.S. Road Racing Championship at Laguna Seca.
Due to other time commitments, the car was not raced in 2007. The engine was rebuilt in May and 2 weekend test/tune events were run since then as an engine break-in only. The car has been photographed many times for Victory Lane Magazine and has been an icon of 2-litre racing for the past several years.
After years of racing, I certainly understand the value of buying a “tuned” car. There is nothing more frustrating than spending tens of thousands of dollars building a car just to spend the first couple of years running mid to back of the pack as you try and sort things out. There is no guesswork in this car. It is a proven winner and legal for VARA CP, HSR-East & West, CP-FIA, POC, PCA, and most any other worldwide vintage organizations.
As the availability of early P-cars becomes scarcer there is no question that these purebred vintage racers are only going up in value. Plus, with the great winning history this car has, it is only going to be worth more with time…not a bad way to enjoy your investment!
