the old " I don't know what its worth" routine again. I bet this car will sell for much more than this when all is said and done. amazing how these things always turn out this way. Lets all tell him these old cars are really worth nothing (check Excellence)

I'm the OP of the 6so item. Dad has been in the S registry for as long as he's had the car, I believe - probably 10 years or so.Originally Posted by boxster03

He sent me some details and the price - I have no earthly idea how he arrived at it. If I had to guess, it's probably the purchase price plus a modest appreciation.
Shortly after posting to RL/6so, a number of messages came in that informed us it would sell very, very quickly at that price. This is why I haven't posted it to Pelican yet - I don't want to post again - needing to post an asking price - knowing it should fetch in excess of $34k.
The best conspiracy theory I can offer is this. My dad is very reluctant to sell the car. Think of it as a "wife forces sale" type thing. So it's possible he told her he could get $34k for it hoping that she would think they're better off keeping it. But I really do not think that is the case.
As I've mentioned before, I've gotten a lot of kind words so far, and they are truly appreciated. I hope I do not seem too defensive. I'm going to miss this car, too.
Justin,
Thanks for your post. Your father's '67S appears to be a clean and honest example. There are a number of SWB S enthusiasts on this site that could provide it with a great home. Please now include yours truly among the members of its ever growing fan club. Oregon beckons!

Justin,
Welcome to the board...
The car looks extremely nice, not that I would have any interest.. (not sure if I'm allowed to buy more than one car per week...)
Howard, you shouldn't have sold the one you had!
regards,
Eric
Eric - thanks again - my dad recognized your name - I urged him strongly to give you a call ASAP.
Mudi, here goes:
Chassis: 306674S
Engine: 960685
I know one of those is from memory, but I think those are the right ones. If they aren't, I'll update when I find out more.
Was it a simple momentary lapse of reason, or perhaps even temporary insanity? Alas, I can't make excuses for my actions on that fateful day! However, I do indeed miss my slate gray beauty. Maybe, just maybe, dear Tom would consider selling her back to me ...

No he won't. Trust me, I've dropped more than a few hints in that direction. I beleive he is prepping it for his eventual burial in it.Originally Posted by Howard Lazarus

Justin, I spoke to him....GREAT guy! What a background....started to work for Brumos back in 1984, now he's at a new Porsche dealership. Must have been fun for you.Originally Posted by justinmm2

I'm sending him some information. Hope to speak to him again soon.
regards,
Eric
