Does that price seem right to you?
I think the price will go pretty high based on the pics. They did a pretty nice job on the undercarriage refurbishment. I wouldn't have done it that way (it's not original enough looking...and the trunk is "overdone"), but it's certainly clean and well done for what it is. Looks like it's a turn key car.....
Just had to drive over to see this 73S today. The car has been out to track events in the past and it takes your breath away each time you see it.
Rick is my engine and transmission builder and did my 1964 911 engine prior to it's being club raced and again after 90K mile (most race engines are 20 to 30K miles max). It was still making good power but I had to rebuild it after it was retired from track duty and before I took on my next track car project. This '64 is the car I'll be driving to RRIII in Florida next week. Rick is currently building my 1967 911S, and is a stickler for perfect running Porsches, not just engines but every working part, (right down to the factory style color dots on the nuts after they have been tightened).
This 1973S will drive like a factory new running car, and could turn it's next 100,000 miles in a heart beat. Rick points out the paint as it's low point...but he is kind of a picky guy. And straight up about any PPI he does, especially on his own car - his 30 year reputation is riding on it.
Who ever ends up with this car is going to be pleasantly surprised as to how great of a car it is. (But then Rick and his shop have been working on my car for 15 years and I'm a just a little biased).

If you think it sad that a lot of cars are going to Europe these days I fully understand you Tom. Its the crapy $ against European currency like the Norwegian "krone" The Norwegian economy and currency are closely linked to the oil prices and they are record high. I would have felt the same way as you if the few cars located in Norway left the country. But the early Porsche car market is like any other market, the only consolation might be that some cars go to real Porsche enthusiasts and not dealers that flip them around at once. If I am not wrong the buying power was the other way around for many many years.
BTW: My parents had saved money to buy a used VW beetle in the early 70's when we moved to Berkeley Ca. For the same money they bought a brand new Ford Cougar sport car!!! Coming to the US from Norway was like entering a fairy tale..are those days back?
