Thread: What is this tape for?

    What is this tape for?

I have no clue what this is for, only that it’s from a pre 73 dealership.

    Any one recognizes this?

Hard to see but isn't this the tape used to seal the fenders and trim strips beneath the 1/4 windows

My guess as well, that it’s the seal between the fender and body

I took it out of the bag. It’s double sided tape.

I think I have seen this on the dash wood?

BTW the dealership (67-72) I got this from got its dealership in such a way you can not imagine these days.
His father was an agent in the Netherlands for Kronprinz. He asked the ceo of Kronprinz in Germany to give Porsche a call for a dealership in the Netherlands for his son to get do him something serious w his hobby. He and his father went to Germany for a visit to Porsche himself and shaked hands and it was done. When Porsche restructured the dealer organization he got another marque for not too long and went into real estate. A classic rally in his 65 sold me to 911 in a day.

    Hi Richard,

The double sided tape on the wood dash is adhesive soaked white cotton, which is amazingly thin. This looks way too thick?

I am guessing it is for the inside of the door panel. Looks to be about that size and padding type...
