Is there a primer to learn more about FIA papers. How do you research if papers ever existed for a certain serial number.

What do you need FIA papers for? Thanks Ron
I am interested also, how about for a 1973 RSR?
Are you referring to the FIA Heritage Certificate Program or trying to determine if FIA papers existed previously for a car? If the latter, can the FIA supply that info directly?
If papers did not exist previously, I think the Hertitage Cert is the only option if you want to obtain them now, although its a bit spendy at roughly $3,000 plus the travel costs of an approved FIA inspector, none of which are currently based in the US, I believe.
Since I understand the FIA will issue "papers" on a Lola T70 or Chaparral built in 2007 (which most us might consider to be replicas), what possible use can these papers have?? I believe Mister Earle will be involved in the process in the USA and is explaining things at a VMC meeting this weekend.
FIA homologation papers for original production or GT cars should be available from the National Motorsports organization in the country of manufacture (ACCUS for Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes, Cobras, etc.). I have seen the papers for the 1967, 911. They are in German (of course) and are comprehensive. They even contain photos of engine, brake and suspension pieces, and I believe, quantities manufactured.
As far as I know papers certifying the provenance of individual chassis are not available from the FIA (or any other organization).

There is a FIA techn. passport and a FIA historical passport.
The techn.passport is for the 2007 Lola, the hisorical passport for the original race or rally vehicle.
In the SCM from the recent past (somewhere last year) a comprehensive article was published.

The question remains-
If one has a "Technical Passport" one may race (and pass off) the vehicle as "meeting the original specification". Please correct me if I'm wrong but possessing the "Historical Passport" is not necessary to participate in FIA Vintage Racing (of which there are none currently in the USA).
thanks
johnt
Exact. A techn. passport is sufficient but a hist. passport proves it's importance (= valuable).

I have an original set of FIA papers for a Carrera RS and RSR. they are 1000% perfect, I paid a lot of money for them. They are not for sale but I could make a copy of them if anyone is interested. The copy would be very close to original. I would only charge the copy service duplication cost. Let me know if you are interested. By the way I think they are generic not specific to a serial number. I will check on that monday, the papers are at my office. Thanks Ron
I would be interested in a copy, if you think the pictures will come out O.K. I forgot that I allready have a Xerox copy, but it is very poor especially the pictures.
