how nice & helpful!
Ya know, Tom's heart is in the right place if not the most politically sensitive. Nontheless, he's right: that info wouldn't be kept if not for dues paying members giving there money to ensure safe keeping of this info.
The dues are cheap; support the cause.
As I say this someone is probably PMing you info, anyway... We're all softies here.

Fair enough; totally agree. PC sucks and Pay to play.Originally Posted by sithot

Guys,
Hope I didn't blow it for some of you. But I did what I thought was right. I PM'd this guy looking for info on this car with some (not all...no address) info on the car. At the risk of controversy here's why.
First, I think our club is made up of a lot of neat guys...and guys that probably have more collective info on early 911s than anyone else on the planet.
Second, yeah I'd like this guy to join our group, but only if he has the interest we all have. It not, let's give him the info and let him move along.
Finally, I've personally had the same problem he has...i.e. finding the original owner of an old classic car.) Here's the story: In addition to my passion for old 911s I also have a V8 passion. I'm currently putting an old original '68 Z28 Camaro back together. (For you non V8 guys a '68 Z28 is a lot like our early S cars. It was built for performance only...a '68 Z28 won both the 1968 TransAm Championship and also the 1968 NHRA SuperStock Drag racing Championship.) I've had a lot of trouble documenting my old race car. I wish there was a site like our Early 911S site that I could query...but there isn't. So...I've sent out contless letters and made lots of phone calls...All of which might not have been necessary if there was an "Early Z28 Registry" site.
So...bottom line...I wanted to help this guy find a previous owner. I hope I've helped him. I hope you guys understand. Also...I wanted to show that we are nice guys too.
