    Kardex service at Rennsport?

Did anyone hear about Porsche allowing you to see your original kardex at Rennsport or is this just a rumor?

I heard you couldn't get a copy or take a photo but you read it.....

"Porsche had a computer at Rennsport which had digital images of all thekardex's. If you gave them your vin # , they would show you the kardexincluding the part not supplied by the factory if you were lucky enough toget one in the past. They would not let you photograph or print the image. You could see the original owner's name as well as all warranty record data. They were more forth coming on Friday but by Sunday they were less likely tosee the bottom half. I did tell a number of 356er's in the historic display who were unaware ofthis and were glad they could go and see the info. I was able to see the name of my original owner, Jimmy Moore". Jerry

I got this off the 356 talk list hope it is ok to do that.....

No we stopped by Brumo's on the way down and tried them to see if they had any record (car came out of Florida) but they can't go back that far, but they gave the 65 caravan license plate frames.

They'd only do it at $110 a pop and if they could ban EU IP addresses. My best guess is that they could show them in the US since we don't have privacy laws like they now have in Germany. As you can see they still weren't let anyone take copies home. I think it' all due to the legality of this info getting back into Germany which would open them up to gov't scrutiny.
